I got two of these, one for me and one for my son when we drove cross country during the dead of winter in a classic vehicle that had some exhaust coming into the car when we used the heat and no mechanic seemed to be able to find and fix it. It was quite an adventure, but we made it by dressing warmly and keeping our days short and taking rest days. Anyway, I needed very good hats that would have room for our ample hair, look good on us, keep us warm and hold up. These were great. The silk lining is soft and didn't rough up my natural silver wavy hair that I baby to keep it shiny and soft. Same for my son's long curly hair.We haven't washed them yet as we didn't need them as much after our trip, so I can't tell you how they will wash. I plan to soak them in detergent and warm water and gently massage the solution through the layers, squeezing out the lather after a few hours and soaking a few times to get all the detergent out. Because of the silk liking, I think it's good to hand wash.The only thing I don't like about these is that they do hold smells. What I mean is that, like many synthetics, the knit part will absorb and hold chemicals in the air in the spaces they are in. I have aired them out for a long time since it got warm, and that's mostly gone, but I want them to be very fresh and clean, so will wash them. Because it's not good to wash silk in hot water, I hope that gently warm water and a good long soak will work to make these very fresh. I'll try baking soda in warm water if needed. I don't think most people will have problems with this, but I mention it because a wool hat with silk lining probably wouldn't hold onto smells as much--but they could cost a lot more.

I ordered this hat hoping that it wouldn't mess up my hair. I walk my dog everyday twice a day no matter how cold it is outside and this hat delivers - keeps my hair looking great thanks to the satin lining and keeps me warm. Would highly recommend - I liked it so much I ordered a second one in a different color.

The media could not be loaded.  This hat IS soft and comfortable. As of now, I don't know how well it will wash up or dry or how long it will stay soft and comfortable. I will update after I have more time wearing it. It isn't the most stylish but not ugly at all. Hope to get more colors.

Excellent price and high quality item. No- it isn’t silk. Yes, your hair will still thank you. I did not have any issues with the hat slipping or riding up. I worked multiple shifts outside in 20-30 degree weather and this hat definitely helped keep me warm.

My hat is absolutely amazing. I have locs and it covers them . Very warm and comfortable.

The like the silk lining. I don’t like that I need to work at making it slouch. When I come in from my walk, most of it is on top of my head. Perhaps, I could be putting it on in the wrong direction. I like it when I get it to slouch.
