Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon, 20 Ounce

No photos, we ate it. Shocking for a giant bag of bacon, I know. I haven't had a fridge or freezer for a long time. This kind of product is EXTREMELY useful for us and holds up well even without refrigeration (though I recommend keeping open bags cold when you can, it does eventually spoil sooner without.) It tastes and feels like well-cooked but not quite crunchy bacon, hell yeah! If you have soy or peanut allergies, this one appears to be safe for me. Watch out for new "may contain" labels, this wouldn't be the first time a trusted brand is suddenly unsafe.

Love these bacon bits. They are actual crumbled bacon with no fat in it and perfect for salads, scrambled eggs and bacon, grilled cheese and bacon and whatever else you can think to sprinkle these on. I will go out of my way to find the Hormel bacon bits and was happy that Amazon was selling them in the large bag.

Growing up, did NOT have the choice to have real bacon bits in a bag, only the old spice jar with those pinkish-brown rock-hard pieces of unknown origin. Once I tried the Hormel bacon there was no going back (& who in their right mind would WANT to?). Some of the chunks are a good size, too. I use these in omelets, mac & cheese, salads, tacos, whatever I think they'll be good in. I was tired of buying those small, 3.5 oz packets for $5-$6? I wasn't bringing in the bacon, I was paying it out. Great pricing for the amount of bacon you get, refrigerate it once you've opened the bag & be careful that you don't empty the "fresh pack" that's in the bag to your food dish when shaking the bag :-o.

These are very good and they are fresh, and Amazon price matches what I pay in the store. Which by the way they don't always stock them in the store.

I like this product's flavor, but the crumble is so small, it gets lost in whatever recipe you are using it for. I'm not sure if the problem was with my latest order, or if Hormel changed how it processes it's "crumbled bacon", but either way, I will be cautious in the future, and look to buy this (or competing product, with a larger size of grain.

I’ve been eating Hormel bacon bits for YEARS. When Sam’s club stopped selling them, I tried buying their store brand. BAD choice…. Sam’s brand had toooo much fat in them. I tried Costco’s Aldi’s and some other store brands. Allllll of them have a slighter cheaper price BUT a HIGH level of “fat-bits”. I’ve even tried Oscar Meyer bits and still tooo much fat. So I was glad to find that I could get the big bag in Amamzon (almost as big as the bag I used to get at Sam’s). It doesn’t matter if you buy the bacon bits or the bacon pieces, you will “BACON-meat” with very little fat. I’ve been testing the market for years on this and no brand competes. So when I want/need “real bacon” bits/pieces… ONLY Hormel will do.

Sprinkle it in scrambled eggs with broccoli, sauted onion, mushrooms and cheese for an omlette, add it to quiche and salads where recipe includes bacon bits -- favorite is salad greens/arugula, baked glazed pears, mixed nuts, & feta with lemon viniagrette dressing . Great for making bean soup if I have no leftover ham bone. Sprinkle as garnish on tomato soup with little basil and sour cream. Takes every day dishes up a notch. Was initially reluctant to purchase but, saves time, energy and clean up when full strips of bacon are not needed; has less fat. Stays fresh in fridge after opening. Resealable bag. I love these bacon crumbles on baked potatoes and salads. Salty enough that you won't need to add additional salt to anything that you have sprinkled these crumbles on. Just the right amount of bacon-y flavor to satisfy my taste buds and the crumbles don't require refrigeration when stored (unopened) in my pantry. Very flavorful
