I waited a solid week before writing a review because quite honestly I didn't think a little wall plug in would work, but I was willing to try it. Holy crap. Within the first 4hrs there was a SIGNIFICANT difference in the air quality and smell in my home. There's 9 indoor cats and we have 4 auto boxes and 2 traditional boxes, but even with constant upkeep the cat smell persisted. A majority of the boxes are in one room so figured it would be the perfect testing room. It's honestly insane how much different the house smells. We also have 3 dogs and now when you enter the home you smell the dog beds in the front room and NO CAT SMELL. I'll be buying at least 2 more of these to spread throughout the house. Yes, it does whine on the highest setting, but I only left it on that setting for the first couple days and then adjusted it down to about the middle and there's barely any sound and the scent reduction is still amazing. If you have pets, just buy it and thank me later. Way better than scented plugins that just try to cover, this REMOVES smells completely. I'm still in awe. Def one of my best purchases this year.

I have 4 cats, so 4 litter boxes. They're kept in our very small laundry room, so cat box odors are concentrated. I laid out big bucks for Eden Pure ionizers that a radio host touted as the best. Yeah, they worked but left that lovely Ozone smell behind. Worst of all, they all Died within months.Needless to say, I was skeptical about this brand but took a chance. I plugged it in near the boxes and turned it on low. An hour later, there was No odor. Just clean air.We had a house full for New Year's Eve. Not one person noticed cat box odor. One even stated "Unless I had seen the cats, I would not have known you had them!"

I got these because I need new flooring and can't spring for that just now. Why do I need new flooring? I have asthma that's been acting up for several months now despite taking care of myself and as anyone knows, carpet can't Really be cleaned, only shampooed. I also have pets and a my packrat hubby. Sorry, not getting rid of him lolI've owned a Honeywell HEPA filtered air cleaner. It's basically for 1 large room. You have to buy replacement filters that are costly over time even after your initial investment. It took up valuable real estate on the floor and was a bit loud. The housing wasn't easy to keep clean either.I've also owned an air cleaner by Alpine that is nearly identical to Ivation Air Purifier, Ionizer & Deodorizer sold here on Amazon. To be most effective it has to be placed high, like on top of a bookcase, and near the center of the home. The parts are cleanable so only the initial cash outlay. However(!), the fans on these are notorious for failing and replacements are hard to obtain, or at least were. At that time, my home was single story.I looked for Top Ten reviews and these came up on more than 1 or 2 sites. Now, I have a split level home with teh stairs in the middle of the home where an Alpine would have to be mounted on a wall to be effective and that's not really feasible. So, I decided on these and bought 5 for my 2100sq ft home. I put 1 in the kitchen, 1 in my bedroom, 1 in the Living Room, 1 in the cat litter box room (yeah, I know the cat owns me), and the last one in the Garage. These puppies are strong because I have All of them on the lowest setting and only notice that pleasant-it-just-rained smell when sitting by the one in my living room.The best parts? My WHOLE house is covered and my asthma has calmed down. Super easy to clean with the brush attachment on my Kirby. I've had them longer a month and haven't even needed to do that yet. Can't get any better than that.

I purchased three of these to try to clear out some of the constant musty smell in my home, as well as the smell of the litter box that travels up from the basement no matter how clean we keep it.I plugged one in at the base of the stairs, one in the living room, and one in the hallway leading to the bedrooms, and while I'm still adjusting the dial for output as well as their final locations, I could tell the difference immediately.It adds a scent-quality to the air similar to hydrogen peroxide, which was very interesting, but also very satisfying in that it got rid of all the other less-than-appealing smells. 5/5 stars for functionality.I have two complaints. The first is something I will largely ignore due to how immediately and successfully the yuck-smell has dissipated from my home: These guys are LOUD.It's not the worst loud-fan sound, but there is a very noticeable hissing sound which increases in volume depending on how high you have the output set. There's no getting around it unless you turn the device off completely, which of course defeats the purpose. If you are sound-sensitive, this could be extremely disruptive and definitely something to take note of.The other and one that irks me to no end - the steady green glow that is put off from the dial is *extremely* bright. There is no way to turn it off, so I am stuck with this awful green that is bright enough to light up a room when all other lights are off - I would absolutely not be able to sleep with one of these in my bedroom. I will likely be purchasing some led dimming stickers, or covering it with electrical tape, but to me, this is a design flaw that could be remedied easily.Having said that, with how effective this is at odor control, I will likely be purchasing one or two more in the future if I need more square footage covered.
