Great buy! Highly recommended. Installation experience would fall under - 'some experience' - due to electrical concerns and sometimes a need for modified mounts. My wife attempted to install this herself where we had an ceiling fan in our garage - that has stopped working. I stepped in only to add a custom hanging bracket because the previous installation was larger than the bracket that comes with the lamp (4" standard"). Home Depot has adjustable brackets - which we got, then proceeded with the directions - which we felt were easy to read. We wanted something simple and this was it. It has no bottom glass/enclosure, so if using it outside you'll never have to worry about pulling globes down to take all the bugs out. Garage lighting should be OVER HEAD and not hang too low causing glare for drivers, and this was perfect, because we could shorten the chain (or use no chain and only one adjustable link that comes with) to hang high and out of swinging distance for tall ladders or tall vehicles. The side panels are clear glass - well enough mounted to think that hurricane force winds in the garage will not be an issue. And we hung it high enough to ensure winds won't cause it to swing and break - and high enough not to cause drivers to experience glare. IF you were to mount inside - it has many feet of chain and wire. I've seen folks string the chain and wire from a side wall and put multiple hooks to use the chain as an accent in the room leading to the hanging fixture. You'll have plenty of wire and chain for that. The links are heavy enough to make sure the lamp is securely mounted, but not so tough that you can't remove links with two sets of pliers. (Pro Tip - Use a cloth rag over the links when removing so as not to scar the one(s) you are keeping - if removing links.) It's standard two wire and ground with good wire that was easy to splice in to existing house wiring. It's a great looking hanging fixture that should be around for many years...even if you decided to hang it in the garage....lol. We are using a 75W equivalent LED light bulb (burns only 13w)...and we have much better light that we ever had with our fan light kit.

This lamp looks nice and it is of okay quality. It seems as if it will withstand weather conditions of the Mid East coast. It was easy enough to install. The materials are okay, not top of the line, but I think it will do. I will review again in a few months to tell how well the lamp stood up to the climate.

We really like this light fixture, the chain is plenty long for any hanging scenario. The fit and finish is about what you'd expect for a fixture of this price range. Install took maybe 30 minutes including removing the old fixture. My big complain is with how the fixture attaches to the bracket that screws into the electrical box. There are two screws that protrude out of the bracket much farther than is needed, those go through the base of the fixture and then two very small nuts are attached to those screws to secure the whole thing to the ceiling. Those nuts are very small and don't inspire a great deal of confidence. With even slightly better hardware this would be 5 stars.

This light fixture is gorgeous! If you look closely at the inside, however, you might notice some kind of black, rubbery muck. I think it’s some kind of adhesive, and it’s really not a big deal, but it did catch me a little off guard. The glass has a kind of speckled, sparkly look that I find very pleasing, but if you’re wanting perfectly clear glass, then this isn’t for you. It feels absolutely solid, and it is packed in such a way that shipping will be unlikely to damage it.Though the hardwire installation is fairly straightforward, my husband messed up screwing in the base, as screws are among his most fearsome foes, but he was able to rectify the situation so that everything worked out.I’m debating on whether or not to use some glass paint to go for the stained glass look, which I think would be gorgeous, and you’re welcome to use that idea yourself. We’re actually using this lantern inside in our open board game closet, where we’re building an area for tabletop game playing, especially Warhammer, and this will add nicely to the ambiance.

This light fixture is exactly what I was looking for. It's very well manufactured. The rustic old fashioned style is complimented perfectly by the imperfect glass panels. It was very easy to install. I would have preferred if the cord came already woven through the chain or at least having a guide provided as to how many links to skip when weaving it through. I went with every 3rd link and it looks really nice. I absolutely recommend this with one potential exception. If you require a trim ring the provided mounting screws might be a little too short if the ring is thick. That said you could take the screws to the hardware store and find longer ones, or you can use a crescent wrench and an adjustable wrench and bend the bracket to gain the extra length like I did. I used to be a sheet metal fabricator so it was a pretty easy task. If you aren't comfortable with your skills I'd recommend buying longer screws.

This looks really nice, came with clear instructions and was easy to install. It came with a pretty long wire and chain that we needed to shorten for our purpose. This was also easy to do.

The VIANIS Outdoor Pendant Light was very easy to install. The size of the fixture was able to keep my dust to dawn(Longer bulb then average)light bulb completely covered. Most fixtures are either too long or too short. This fixture is the perfect size with out being super bulky.

I got this for our front porch, it has a very high ceiling and wanted a lower light so its brighter, plus our old light was flat and getting rusty. My husband got this hung pretty quickly, the hardest part he said was just working to attach the wires with it suspended, which is typical of most hanging lights I would assume. The longest part was deciding the height we wanted it at, it comes with what seemed like 5 feet of chain and wiring. Once we determined the right length, he removed the excess chain links, and cut and stripped the wires accordingly, he got it connected and screwed on and I couldn't be more pleased. I think it looks beautiful and really makes the porch more attractive and bright.
