Is this supposed to have a big dent on the back side? It makes the lid not close securely.

Same problem with mine, dent located across from hook the lid attaches to. The lid moves slightly, could be more secure. This is the 2nd one I've ordered with the exact same dent in the same location. Must be by design as someone mentioned, for ease in pouring out the oil

How do I get the thermometer that wasn't in the box

Mine had one in the box included. Reach out to company or return it to Amazon. Love mine though
