I’ve been very happy with the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera. The installation was straightforward, and the app made setup quick and easy. The floodlights are extremely bright and provide excellent visibility at night, while the HD video is clear during both the day and night. The motion detection is reliable, and I like that I receive alerts on my phone whenever movement is detected. Two-way audio works well, making it easy to communicate with visitors or delivery drivers. It also integrates smoothly with Alexa, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this is a great security camera for the price. It offers dependable performance, good image quality, and bright lighting that helps keep my property secure. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and effective outdoor security camera.

Blink Wired Floodlight Camera My familiarity with Blink cameras is limited to the Blink Minis and the Blink Doorbell and the Sync Modules. I have been reluctant to purchase any of the battery powered outdoor cameras because I don't want to climb up on a ladder to constantly replace batteries. The Blink Wired Floodlight Camera is Blink's first outdoor camera that doesn't require batteries. I purchased the camera to replace an existing motion floodlight that had stopped working. The previous fixture was mounted to an outdoor 4-inch diameter electrical box--exactly what is required for the installation of the Blink product. That made installation and setup simple. After shutting the power off, I removed the old fixture and replaced it with the Blink assembly. Blink provided all of the necessary hardware including an S hook to keep the camera hanging while made the necessary connections. Once everything was in place, I powered up the camera and installed it into my existing Blink system using the app. Connecting with the app requires inputting the camera's serial number or scanning the QR code on the back of the camera. I've always scanned the QR code on the camera, but that code is also affixed to the front page of the Quick Start Guide--a nice alternative since scanning the back of camera would be difficult after mounting. Total install time including configuring the app took about 20 minutes. It's important to note that the camera uses the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz frequency which generally offers much better range than 5GHz. With 2.4 GHz, there's less attenuation of the signal as it passes through the interior and exterior walls of the building. That's probably why Blink uses 2.4GHz WiFi on all of its cameras. Some Blink outdoor cameras including my doorbells also use a lower 900 MHz band to connect to the sync module. This camera does not appear to have this function. It connects solely through your WiFi LAN. The camera's app settings are similar to other Blink cameras with the addition of floodlight control and some other goodies not seen in the other Blink models. The first is "person detection," flagged in the app as Beta. This is a welcome feature as it should filter out many unwanted motion alerts. In my case, I want to record animals as well as people strolling through my yard so probably won't use it for this location. Motion clip recording length is now up to 60 seconds, twice as long as my Blink Minis. The camera is equipped with two bright LED floodlights which can be aimed according to preference. When the camera detects motion after dusk, the floodlights come on or it can leave them off for a more stealth recording using only the night vision. The floodlights can also be set for continuous use, dusk to dawn. They can also be turned on and off from the live view screen, the thumbnail screen or with an Alexa command. Because the floodlights can be switched from an Alexa routine, you could set up these cameras around the exterior of your house and have them all come on when motion is detected by any camera. Another feature from the "more actions" screen during a live view is an audible siren. Presently, I have only been able to activate it from the app while in the live view mode. In the future, you may be able to set up an Alexa routine that would sound the siren when motion is detected on select cameras, such as an interior camera. Overall, the Wired Floodlight Camera fit my needs perfectly. It quickly mounted in my existing box and attached to my current Blink system, replacing floodlights and adding a camera. Picture quality is as good or better than my other Blink cameras. And, there are no batteries to change.

LI installed this Blink spotlight camera myself and was honestly surprised by how easy the installation was. The hard-wired setup was exactly what I wanted since I didn’t want to deal with constantly charging or changing batteries. The cameras feel well made and the overall quality is great. Once they were mounted and hooked up, getting everything working was pretty straightforward. The spotlights are also really bright and make a big difference at night, especially around areas of the house that were pretty dark before. I really like the way they look once installed. They don’t feel overly bulky and have a clean, professional appearance. The hard-wired connection also makes them feel more like a permanent security setup rather than a temporary camera. For the price, I think these are a great option. I installed them myself, saved the cost of having someone come out and do the installation, and ended up with a really nice security setup. Very happy with the quality and how everything turned out.

Ok, I have used the Blink wired Floodlight Camera for over a year now so I feel I've been as thorough as possible before leaving a negative review. The sad truth is, this thing is awful. During my time with this device I have encountered many issues. 1) When you want it to record, it either cuts the recordings off way too quickly or doesn't record at all (see video). Other times it will record the full 60 second clip for no reason at all. 2) It's a crap shoot whether or not it will update new settings when making changes on the app. 3) The floodlights seem to have a mind of their own. If I set them to "dusk to dawn" it may only operate correctly 10% of the time. If I set them to "motion activated" most of the time they will not trigger even if someone is standing directly in front of them, waving their arms. 4) The "motion zones" that allow you to select areas that you don't want the camera to detect motion is absolutely useless which doesn't really matter cause, IF it decides to record, your clips are going to be so short they might as well be a picture. 4) It can take up to 60 seconds to bring up a live view IF it connects at all. Half the time I get an "operation failed" or "system busy" message. 5) Alexa connectivity for voice control works decently but the video option (a huge selling feature for me) might as well be nonexistent. It worked for about a month but now it just shows a continuous load screen on my Echo Show 5 and 10. I began buying Blink cameras a few years ago as an affordable way to help protect my family and now I have just about every device they make so it's safe to say I am very familiar with the brand. Seriously, the only Blink device I dont currently own is the new Outdoor camera 4 but with all of the problems I've had with the floodlight (and other outdoor cameras) I just can't justify continuing to spend money on devices that are buggy, ineffective, and mostly useless as anything other than a visual deterrent akin to a $5 prop camera. I am a disabled veteran with 3 kids, living on a fixed income so when I spend money on a product it needs to do the job it is designed to do. I have invested many hours of troubleshooting, either on my own or with assistance from Blinks online customer assistance, reddit forums, and/or Blink owner group forums all to no avail. I've spent even more money on Blinks monthly subscription service and purchasing top of the line internet service and wifi router(s) to ensure that my Blink system has full wireless signal on all devices and can access as much bandwidth as it could possibly ever need. I just cannot make this thing work as it says it should. I've tried. I really have. I really REALLY wanted to love my Blink system and initially, I did. My first cameras (Blink indoor minis) still work great after about 5 years of constant use. I use to show them off to everyone. Since then things have just gone down hill. I hoped by adding the Blink Doorbell and Outdoor Cameras (both of which have had issues of their own) that I was investing in the safety of my family. However, after buying the Wired Floodlight Camera it seems that I've just been throwing money away as I'll have to replace everything if I want a complete system that works together on one app and actually does the things it says it should do. I'm not a difficult person to please. Heck, I'd be happy if this thing just loaded quickly when viewing live. When it works the picture is great, the lights are very bright, and the speaker/microphone are loud and clear. Unfortunately, as it stands now, I regret choosing Blink when deciding on a home security system and cannot recommend it to anyone. If by some miracle that changes, I'll return and update my review. Until then, I guess I'll have to work at saving some money so that I can start replacing my entire system.

***update So recently I have notice the setup challenge that me and my father had been experiencing seems to have gone away. The cameras seem to setup with out a hitch now. I am wondering if blink did some sort of firmware upgrade I do not know. However I still can not give 5 stars. We ran into a problem on one of the flood light cameras that he has purchased. Normally this be no big deal but blink stone walled him on getting a replacement camera. Even though the camera was only a few weeks old and he is paying subscriber. They spent hours upon hours on troubleshooting a issue that was an obvious hardware failure. In fact it took me to drive a hour to his place and get on the phone with blink and him and for me to argue with the rep to get them to replace the camera. Even then they sent him what appeared to be a open box or refurbish camera that had issues right out of the box, which he spent hours arguing with Blink on the phone. Once again I had to drive a hour up to his place and argue IT lingo on the phone to get the rep to replace the defective replacement. Even then he had to get amazon involved. Once the amazon rep made the call to blink things seem to change quickly. What gives blink if a camera does not work and its under warranty and you have a customer paying for subscription you should be a little more respectful of the situation. Come one blink help get to where I can give you 5 stars!!! I want to believe you are a cost effective security solution. Me and my father are talking about using these in one of his physical store fronts in his business. That is a purchase of 25 cameras solid. Make us life long customer by getting your customer service together! ***original Review: I purchased this flood light camera for my father. He's been looking to get a security system that can easily send him updates over his phone. Instead of a system that just simply records on site. The camera and flood light is good. The floodlight is very bright and lights up a large area around where it's stalled. I would say it lights up about at least 50 ft, if not more from where it has been installed. It records very well, it has made it through several rain storms since he's installed it, and it gives him some a sigh relief knowing when he's at work everything is good at home. My Only complaint and the reason why I can only give this camera four stars, is it's glitchy app that sets up blink cameras. It's very difficult to get any blink device to easily communicate with a home Wi-Fi signal. I have a blink camera installed on my home, and my father has purchased several different types of blink cameras, since I provided him with this one. Everyone of them is a challenge to setup. It has nothing to do with understanding the setup. The instructions are simplistic, and the ideal behind setting them up is simplistic. But when it comes to your camera tying in to your local Wi-Fi the challenge begins. No matter what you do it seems it will take up to 15 to 20 if not more failed attempts before a camera can enjoy your local WiFi network. For someone you like me that has an IT background it can be easily overcome. For some one like my father who does not it this is a real frustration and makes him feel like the devices are not good quality. I have to reassure him several times, the cameras and the service is great, there's just some challenges with the app communicating with your local Wi-Fi. This is the reason I can only give four stars for these cameras. If there was the way to ensure they were able to communicate with your local network easier during setup, five stars would be guaranteed for the system. I hope blink continues to work on this.

Context first: I already run three Blink cameras on a Sync Module 2, so this was a deliberate ecosystem add rather than a blind purchase. I installed it over my garage replacing a dumb motion-activated floodlight that had zero smarts and mediocre output. The wired installation took about 25 minutes — standard junction box mount, two wires, done. If you're comfortable replacing a light fixture you will not need an electrician. The 2600 lumen output is the spec that separates this from battery floodlight cameras and it earns its billing. At night with motion triggered, the coverage area is genuinely impressive — it illuminates my full two-car driveway and the approach path to the front door simultaneously with no dark edges. Ring's comparable wired floodlight cam ships at 2000 lumens; that 600 lumen delta is visible in side-by-side comparison and matters at the perimeter edges of the coverage zone where intruder detection actually happens. Video quality in full flood-lit conditions is excellent — sharp HD with accurate color rendering. The enhanced motion detection tuning in the app lets you draw specific activity zones, which eliminated the false triggers I was getting from passing cars reflecting light. Siren is legitimately loud at 100dB — not a deterrent in theory, an actual deterrent in practice. Alexa integration is seamless; "Alexa, show me the driveway" pulls the live feed to my Echo Show in under two seconds.

Glad I purchased this item. Compared it to the Blink Battery Floodlight Camera--and selected the wired version since the optimal location is 9 feet high---would require a tall ladder to change batteries. The Wired Version has brighter floodlights, and no need to ever change batteries. Because electrical wiring was needed, I elected to hire an electrician, and am glad that I did. Although it could be done DIY, the need for new wiring made that an easy decision for me. The electrician told me that he had the Ring version of this same product, and he told me that he thought my Blink Wired Floodlight Camera was higher quality than his Ring version. Pleased with the Blink system--now have multiple outdoor cameras. The Blink instructions through the app. are very thorough. But I would add that if you are installing new wiring for a new camera, that you will also need the Blink junction box that is not included. But the price is low, and also available on Amazon.
