Love this for my new born puppies. They stay nice and warm. Love the fact you can adjust the out put of the heat and you are able to monitor the temperature for the pups.

Purchased this for our whelping box.I was concerned about it falling, but it has an amazing grip and stays in place even when our female bumps into it .Heating- I love that it digitally tells us the temperature. Puppies cannot retain body heat in the first week so having a heating source is critical. Puppies normally huddle together to keep warm, with this lamp, our puppies stay warm without huddling and even move away from the lamp when they feel too warm.Exactly what we were looking for and gives us a piece of mind without having to spend hundreds on whelping plates or worrying about a heat pad being warm enough.

I am using this for newborn pups and have had it for almost 4 weeks. We have the temp set to 80 degrees but i feel like the light is VERY inconsistent. We've rarely gotten the temp under the lamp to 80 degrees. The instructions say to keep it 5-6 feet above, we have it 4 feet above with the temp sensors under it and still don't get it to 80. The good news is the pups are happy and healthy. Just a heads up!

This light works extremely well. I bought it for my dog during the winter and I was extremely impressed with it. You can set the temperature to whatever you desire and it has a sensor to when the temperature is reached it will shut off. 10/10

Claps right in to the cage. Love that you can set the temperature and walk away without worrying about the temperature dropping or getting too hot!

I bought two of these because I was getting baby chicks and keets. They need a certain temperature weekly so I thought these would be perfect. Once I set the temp they would never reach that high. I put the little thermostat cord in where I needed the temp to read that high (basically right in the middle of the light zone) and it didn’t work. I needed them to be 95 and they would never get above 82.5 I bought two, one for chicks and one for my keets. Same thing. So I doubt it’s a malfunction more than they are just garbage. If I could return them after being used this long I would. Don’t waste your money if you want it to regulate for fowl in a controlled environment.

We have only used the lamp for a couple days, but overall it seems to work as planned. My only issue is that the external digital thermometer used to check the heat to area (not to regulate output), arrived with several bars out, so that the temperature is unreadable.Update: After two months of use, the socket of the light suddenly started to smoke. We noticed it probably within minutes and unplugged it immediately, otherwise who knows what might have happened. For use with CLE heat lamps, it is probably safer to get a lamp with a ceramic socket rather than plastic. We ordered a lamp with a ceramic socket immediately. But I am happy with how the thermostat operates and it is easy to use.
