Does it work? Yes. Does it really help? Once you get used to using it.
So I decided to pick this product up to help me strip copper wire faster. I was getting rather frustrated with sliding a knife down the length of cable to get the copper out of it. It was rather messy, as I could easily cut through the copper as well as the jacket. With this item, I thought I could cut through the length of wire in one go, pull the copper out and move on. I tinkered with the adjustment screws to make sure I was cutting the jacket only, and set it to the right cable size. The blade easily pierced the jacket and I pulled the cable through. Now I just had to pull the jacket around the copper and pull it off. Easier said than done. I ended up digging the copper out the first few tries. Then I tried stripping the end so I would have something to pull on. Better, but still not what I was hoping for. After trying different gauges of cable and adjusting for each, I decided that this tool was not going to do what I was looking for. By the time I made the adjustments to the tool, and got the cable fully stripped, it took about the same amount of time as it does for me to strip cable with a knife and some pliers. Not worth the $40 CAD I paid in my opinion.I will be sending it back for a refund.*UPDATE Jan 24* After another couple of weeks of trying it out, I managed to get comfortable using the stripper. I did tinker around with it some more and found if I sliced off one side of the jacket, about and inch and a half from the end, and then ran it through the stripper, it worked much better. I was able to easily remove the jacket, even if the blade only cut through a bit of the jacket. Still, I think $40 is quite high for what the item is, but once you play around with it a bit and get used to it, it becomes a much better tool. It helped me strip a full garbage bag of computer wire that I was dreading having to do.I think I will keep it after all, but there may be better options out there to spend your money on.

Not bad
Instructions are vague, but it works reasonably well.Make sure you adjust the screw for the depth of the blade, and it will not bend to the side.

Works well
Works well once set up correctly but could be a bit thicker metal as bends when used

Designed for light cable.
Bought to use on 16mm cable which has a 10mm diameter, it bent the device and didn't always score all the way through to the copper. However it worked fine on smaller cable with thinner copper strands.
