Fabulous comb; HOWEVER, battery release button location is ASININE!
I absolutely LOVE this and wanted to give it a 5-star rating; however, continue reading to find out why I gave it only 3 stars.Again, I absolutely LOVE this flea comb, and my dog and 1 cat love it as well. (My other cat, NOPE.) It is SO easy to use, and it is SO satisfying when it stops making the noise and you see a flea in the comb!!Now for what I absolutely HATE about this. The battery release button is where you grip, where your small finger goes. SO MANY TIMES, I have changed grip to change direction of combing, and I accidentally press that button, and the batteries go shooting out! This is SO frustrating when trying to comb my cat that does not like the comb. Everytime it happens, I have to replace the batteries and then try to find my cat, who runs and hides.Had I realized that, I would have tried to find a zapper comb that was made different. Putting the battery release button where the grip is was completely asinine!Had the battery release been different, I would have rated this comb 5 stars.

Best Flea Control Item I've ever purchased
The Epilady Flea Zapper Electric Flea Comb is the best product I've ever bought to help control fleas on my cats!I used to flea comb my cats then dip the comb in rubbing alcohol - which did not kill the fleas right away, and sometimes the flea would escape the comb before I could dip it. Then there was the hassel of rinsing the comb and drying it before combing the cat again. I have 3 cats, they really don't enjoy the process to begin with let alone waiting in between combs while I would dunk, rinse, and dry the comb each time. I have totally streamlined this process now with the addition of a bowl of hot water and a shot of Dawn dish washing liquid. If you did not know - Dawn kills the fleas instantly. When I use the Epilady Flea Zapper - the comb stops humming indicating it has caught a flea or fleas in its teeth while the flea is "stunned" I use the supplied brush to brush them into the solution of water and Dawn - once the flea is removed from the teeth the Zapper hums back to life and I start combing again. Much faster and way more efficient. The picture I downloaded is the proof (the little black specs are the dead fleas) 3 cats combed in about 30 minutes.I am very pleased with the Epilady Flea Zapper Electric Comb - my cats are all short hair so the combing process is probably easier than with a longer haired cat but if it is brushed regularly this product should be just as fantastic for you.

Best flea comb ever.
Totally love this product. Cats don't seem to mind it. We have one that does, but he objects to the constant high pitched whine that the machine emits as it's waiting to zap the fleas, not the being combed itself. Boy does it clean fleas off cats. Just have a small glass of soapy water nearby, take the flea off the comb when it's found, drop in the water, and keep combing. In just two to three days we were almost flea free in our multi cat household. No sprays, no pills, no chemicals necessary. But you do have to scan your cats two to three times a day if possible to keep getting the fleas, and wash your bedding, and disinfect all soft surfaces because the fleas hide in all those places. But yes, this product is worth every penny.

Qualtiy has changed
I have owned these in the past. The have always worked great except once you take off the lid and lift off the comb to clean it never really works right after that. This last one I ordered was a piece of junk from day one. Nothing fits properly. I spend more time fidgeting with it than cleaning our pets. The price for what you get is a rip off.

Very Safe And Effective Flea Zapper For Ferrets
Every year in southern Louisiana the fleas hatch and bug our "fur noodles". This comb pulls out fleas big and small. We comb our 3 ferrets daily in concert with monthly doses of Revolution, flea spray in all of the hiding spots, and frequent vacuuming of those spots (and the ferrets!). I'm happy to report that flea infestations are under control. This comb is an excellent test for fleas. The electrode tips are insulated (try it - run the comb over your arm hair or scalp). The comb stuns the fleas not kill them so it's necessary when catching fleas to keep a small bowl of warm soapy water nearby. Use the provided brush to sweep the fleas off into the water.Just use the provided brush to remove the fleas and your fingers to gently remove pet hair. Eyeball the comb's teeth to insure nothing is left between them.Clean frequently - if you catch a big flea sweep it into the bowl of warm soapy water before continuing. Avoid build-ups and you'll have a fully functional flea comb!!!

Worth the money!
I just bought a house next to a man made pond. Little did I realize what that meant! I’m now combing allllll the dogs for fleas every single time they come in despite having my lawn treated each month & the dogs treated AND wearing citronella collars! The only reason I give this 4 stars is because I do think it bothers a couple of my dogs. As I comb towards their bellies, they get sensitive, especially if I zap a flea. I suspect it must feel similar to a static shock like you get if you rub your feet on the carpet & touch another person. One dog has very little hair & flat out refuses to let me use this on him at all. I don’t think it’s the noise, he actually seems to hurt. And sadly, the one animal that needs it the most is the one I can’t use it on at all... my cat with very long hair - his coat is curly & this can’t comb through it. But then again, no comb can.Still, I combine this with a multitude of products that are safe to use in combination. And of course, PLEASE check with your vet before you mix flea products, essential oils, or any kind of OTC remedies for your pets. I cleared everything through my vet when I realized how big a problem I had - including the pest control for the yard - and this little gem is one of the best parts of it. It’s easy to use & definitely gets the fleas.Do watch the battery area - it will pop open easilyDo be careful if you have dogs with thin coats

Yes it DOES work, but read below!
So. Before buying I read a LOT of reviews as they all seemed to say it was amazing, or useless. So. I’m going to give a proper objective review to help others. This item is actually not as bad as a lit of people make out. Not perfect, but, actually pretty good. So the noise it makes isn’t too bad, could scare some animals, but didn’t scare mine so that’s good. The comb prongs could be a little longer - my fat is a domestic short hair and the hair is too thick and long in places for the prongs to reach the skin. But, if you change the angle of the comb so it’s perpendicular to the skin it works fine (and as it’s electrified it doesn’t need to be at an angle to lift fleas out - as soon as they touch it they are electrocuted). The battery cover build quality isn’t great but to be honest it doesn’t fall off. And if it does, it looks easy to tape up. It comes with a little cleaning brush to get fleas, flea dirt and fur off the comb which works well. So. Down to whether it works or not. Yes. Mostly! Probably 80% of the time it kills fleas on contact. The noise means that current is flowing. And when something makes a short circuit (like a flea) the sound stops. This indicates you’ve got something caught in the comb. So lifting the unit away from the animal will show you what you’ve got. Mostly it’s a flea but sometimes the unit will stop because of flea dirt or other particles in the fur. About 20% of yhstime though the flea is stunned and not completely electrocuted so best to just check. But they certainly aren’t capable of jumping away so are easy to kill. The only recommendation I would give is to regularly clean fur and dirt off the unit as it will not electrify again until the short circuit is removed - IE, the dead flea is removed. Also if the comb is full of fur then it can push the flea away from the electrified prongs and mean it doesn’t get electrocuted at all. And then it will jump away. So. Comb a few times, then clean the comb, then carry on. And for fur that seems too long or thick, just part it and do it in small chunks. Then this does exactly what it says it does. Overall I completely recommend it! It really does work as long as you bare the above comments in mind.

Appear to do the job very well
Despite what it says, mine came with no batteries, so it's worth getting some before they arrive. After one going over it would only buzz with the comb retracted . So not much use . After removing the cover, brushing out and shaking and blowing out the cavity a couple of times, it resumed working normally. It's bound to get a bit bunged up from various causes, can't realistically expect anything else ....but it is a Godsend especially for dogs like mine that are extremely susceptible to fleas and before the 'epilady', was constantly being driven mad by them . So far, it's been brilliant : no scratching ; no fleas ; no evidence of any fleas .

Better for cats than big dogs really
We had a modicum of success with this zapper but a bit tedious, only stuns the fleas so then you have to finish them off, clean comb etc.Had more success with an old fashioned flea comb really.Shall continue to use this on the cats to ensure they are critter free but dogs are better and quicker with a flea comb.

Funziona ma ci vuole pazienza
Articolo sinceramente valido, fa il suo dovere. Non sempre ammazza le pulci però le stordisce sicuramente. In quel modo potere toglierle e bruciarle.
