great feel, great power, great string
Most people are hesitant due to the longevity of this string. It's worth the $$$. I dont play that often so this string has lasted awhile. If you play every day for multiple hours you will need to put new string in around twice a month. I paired this with luxilon 4G rough and am very happy.

Great natural gut, especially for hybrid setup.
Very nice natural gut string. I use them for mains with Luxilon 4G soft crosses and it provides a very nice balance of control, power and durability on my RF97. I have played with many synth gut, multifilament and poly strings before this one and after hitting a few sessions I have decided I am going to stick with this combination. This string stays in place and provides a very nice feel. It does give you a lot of power so you may need to string at higher tension, I went up 3 lbs on mains and crosses.

Great Feel
Tennis strings are subjective, but I love these. My setup is hybrid - basically Federer's setup. With a hybrid setup, the durability is great. They are expensive, but worth it for me.

Damaged good.
I typically use natural gut on cross only. When I opened the package I saw the damage but I needed to get it strung for a match the next day so I had spent a good chunk of money for damaged good and only used half. Not impressed with this string for sure.

Best Natural Gut
My 14 year old son plays competitive tennis. He plays for 2 hours every day. This is an amazing string to use when you use a hybrid stringing pattern. My son uses Big Banger on the "mains" at 59 lbs tension and uses this Luxilon gut on the "crosses" at 56 lbs. Gives an extremely good feel to the racket.

Too much coating... ?
Compared to Babolat Touch VS, and even Klip Legend natural gut, Luxilon has way more coating (or at least, that's how I interpret the comparative lack of fraying). It is more control-oriented, but is lacking a bit in feel. I would rather spend less and enjoy Klip over this. Klip is between the other two (I haven't tried Wilson) with regards to coating. Babolat Touch VS has the most feel, and provides easier power than Klip, which has even more feel than Luxilon. For the less discerning, it definitely suffices - you know you're playing with gut. Power/Feel : Babolat >> Klip > Luxilon (Differences are noticeable.) Control : Luxilon > Klip > Babolat (Differences are less noticeable.) Spin : Klip >= Babolat > Luxilon (Even less noticeable; arguably subjective.)
