Great book for tired parents
I swear by this book and have lent it to many friends also struggling with babies sleep, it feels modern and empathetic. It talks all about how sleep habits are formed and how to make changes to fine tune bedtime. It also includes sleep training methods, although as mentioned at the beginning of this book I didn’t need to use these methods after assessing our bedtime routine and the habits.

Good Book
Good book, an easy read with a lot of useful and interesting information, not much in terms of fillers - all of which is very helpful when having to read a book while juggling an infant.

Life changing
I've been using Amazon consistently for almost 10 years and have never written a review before this one. That should give you an idea of how excited I am about this book. My 3-year-old has never been a good sleeper. I've never felt comfortable with the idea of "cry it out," so I resigned myself to spending every single night rocking her to sleep, sometimes for hours. My husband and I would also wake up to her crying at least once a night.Tonight, one week after reading this book and implementing some of its tactics along the way, I just put my daughter into her bed, said goodnight, and left the room. I watched the monitor and was amazed to see her quietly fall asleep on her own, for the first time ever. I honestly couldn't imagine when this day would come, and I am so thankful to Dr. Canapari. Here are some specific things I liked about this book:-Easy to read and extremely informative. I've read Ferber's "Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems," among others, and found this book to be particularly user-friendly and concise.-It provides tactics to use for kids of all ages, as well as kids who have autism or other developmental disorders.-It includes findings from the latest sleep-related studies.-It is optimistic, non-judgmental, and relatable. I was immediately sold when, in the first quarter of the book, Dr. Canapari accurately described each issue we have been dealing with in a very understanding way. Soon after, he provided a variety of concrete, actionable tactics to solve these issues. I liked that he also talks about his own foibles when it comes to sleep training his children. In general, he comes across as non-pretentious and eager to help.I think that this book will become a staple for sleep-deprived parents, and I will certainly recommend it to anyone I can.

Clear, flexible, honest (and enjoyable) advice that has worked wonders for us
Our 20-month-old child's previously good sleeping had gone completely awry and she was waking up and getting distressed multiple times each night. The only thing that settled her was one of us singing her back to sleep... but this was happening more and more times each night, which was killing us. Fortunately, we found this book. Although desparate to get to the "here's what to do" aspects, reading through the initial sections that set the scene around children's sleep, what goes wrong and why, was hugely enlightening. Dr Canapari explains things in a clear, compelling and credible fashion (with honest references to his own experiences and past sleep-training mistakes). All of this gave us faith that the two stage approach of fine-tuning the bedtime timing and routine, coupled with a clear method to deal with the nighttime waking, would be a good one. And it has been. And far quicker than we dared hope for. After a first night of sleep training that felt like there was more crying than sleeping, we feared the worst for the nights ahead, but nights 2, 3 and 4 have been almost miraculous, with our child waking just once, briefly, then settling back to sleep. What's more, Dr Canapari was kind enough to reply to a question I posted on Twitter, which gave us further confidence in the approach we were taking. A good night's sleep is priceless, so the book was money very, very well spent!
