Simple, Strong Magnets
These magnets are clean looking and pretty sturdy; they hold up cardstock and overlapped paper without sliding. There's no separate magnet attached to the back of the wood, either; the magnet is embedded, so no need to worry about magnet backings falling off. I actually bought these for a craft project and painted them, and they took acrylic paint well and still work just fine.
