It's a lifesaver! I'm a professional artist and I've had some disastrous incidents with other sharpeners especially for pastel and charcoal pencils. This was ordered in a hurry because of dateline pressure. It didn't disappoint me. I hope it works fur a long time!

This is a well-made fully plastic body, with a rotary sharpening mechanism so it’ll probably outlive you! Nicely priced but now we come to the caveat: the sharpened pencils don’t have points as shown in the illustration: they’re long, yes- but blunt. You are expected to touch up the point with the (provided) sandpaper patch in the box. Works in some instances- if you’re using colour pencils, a very sharp point is a waste as the coloured lead breaks immediately. But in normal use, for regular pencils, this becomes an additional step to achieving a sharp point. This point (pun intended) apart, it’s a great buy!

Earlier, I had a time when I was confused about whether to choose a manual or semi-electric sharpener, but I decided to go with the manual one. It sharpens charcoal drawing pencils very well. So, if you are someone who compares products before buying, this is a must-buy. It’s better than other sharpeners.

It is very effective in sharpening pencil and pastel pencils and enables fine strokes for art.

Decent product. Works fine for any pencil except the thicker ones like Conte pencils. You really have to hold the pencil down while using the sharpener other wise entire pencil rotates and the sharpner doesn't work. It does give a long point but I always have to manually chisel the tip for a sharp tip.
