New units works first time every time compared to the crappy garage-sale quality remanufactured my company insists on using. Too bad I had to buy two at my own expense for the cheap multi-million dollar company I work for.

I have ordered these many many times over the years and they have been just fine and worked well. They come packaged very well, in plastic trays, with protective cellophane plastic protecting the glass fingerprint area and the entire unit that has to be peeled off to be ready for use. However, I recently ordered 2 of these biometric finger print readers and they arrived packaged very differently then they ever have, which made me initially suspect. Well it turns out they were used and refurbished. Neither one worked. I sent them back for a replacement. I received the new ones a few days later. Guess What... yep same packaging, same refurbished used fingerprint readers. I tried them both and they did not work, which I knew they wouldn't becuase the gel/glass area for your finger print was scuffed, dirty, and cloudy which is why it can't read the fingerprint. So I sent those back, telling Amazon that these are being sold as "New" when they are not. The return process as always with Amazon was very easy, and I got two more replacements, and it was the same damn thing. Smudged, scratched, and clearly used and refurbished, and not very well refurbished I might add. And both did not work. So I sent them back just today, and will not reorder these from Amazon until they look into this and can guarantee that the product I am receiving is brand new, and I wanted to warn others not to buy this product either. I have sinced ordered two of these from a Biometrics Company that specializes in on Biometric devices.

Bought these for my restaurant and use them for employees to clock in using the the POS system vs using a pin. Had no issues with set up. Fair price

While these are a high price, that's also because they are frequently used by businesses. I have them on my two gaming PCs, and once the required WBF driver is installed, they can be used to log in with Windows Hello. They're the most accurate USB fingerprint readers by far, and I've almost never had these fail to read properly. The benefit to fingerprint login and Windows Hello in general is that it significantly reduces the time it takes to log into Windows while being more secure. Again they work great, THEY JUST REQUIRE DRIVERS. I absolutely love these and keep them within reach on my desk.
