ELEGOO UNO R3 Board with USB Cable Compatible with Arduino IDE Projects RoHS Compliant

If you came here looking for an Arduino or something that could replace one, this perfectly fits the criteria, down to the letter. Don't be fooled by the price, Elegoo has not failed me once when it comes to my electronics and DIY projects so far. This behaves as expected, accepts everything an arduino would, and compiles with the same environment as well, no weird heating things, nothing bloatware, just the good ol ATMega and you. It opened my mind to many creative ideas and I haven't broken the bank yet.

This Arduino is exactly what it should be.I've seen comments suggesting it is fake. That is NOT TRUE. Read on for why.The Arduino is open source hardware, which means that companies are freely able (and even encouraged) to make their own to the exact design specifications. There is literally NO SUCH THING as a counterfeit Arduino as long as the maker does that and doesn't put someone else's branding on it.This is well made and, apart from branding, is indistinguishable from any other well made to-spec UNO R3. Everything about it is the same.That's how open source works - nobody's intellectual property rights toes have been stepped on! It's a good product at a good price.

Finally got round to testing it this morning and it is at least on par with the various other UNO R3 boards I have. The black PCB finish gives it a particularly smart look and though a relatively unimportant point in and of itself, a good looking board does add a certain something. But more importantly and of more relevance, the quality of the finish is reflected in the quality of the construction and of the soldering, both being excellent.I also like the fact that the various pin names are printed clearly on the Dupont connectors along both sides of the board, making careless connection mistakes less likely and is one of the main reasons I chose this make of board over another similarly priced unit. They also include a little card with a link to what they call a tutorial for all the OS platforms, though which is actually an installable version and a zipped version of the Arduino IDE. Not all board manufacturers make it easy by including such a link with some expecting you to contact them but with no instruction to do so when you buy their board. Perhaps they believe in ESP and hence you will know what to do :) All in all I'm well pleased with this UNO and looking forward to some playtime with it over the weekend.

Amazing value. Works perfectly. Even comes with a small (30cm-ish) USB A cable (printer cable).Only issue is it's unable to enter DFU mode. This isn't necessary to use the board, but you'll be unable to flash any different firmwares to it without another arduino or an ICSP kit.None of this is necessary however and this is a perfect, cheap introduction to using arduino. Completely compatible with Arduino Uno R3 using the exact same chipset as far as I can tell.

The board comes well packaged, in a good quality anti static bag with a separate USB cable for direct plug and play. Also included is an easy to follow instruction manual. It's basically a Raspberry Pi at a fraction of the cost although not as powerful.It's ideal for little projects, I'm just starting out with the boards so and although it's a steep learning curve the board makes it very simple to follow with easy to use coding. Windows 10 recognised the device which was good although it may have installed drivers in the background without me knowing.Perfect as a gift or to get started into designing gadgets/games etc. Everybody starts somewhere. Highly recommended, although an idiots guide will be best purchased along side this, if like me you are new to electronics.

This board is excellent value at 9 pounds!!Supplied in a shrink wrapped protective box, you get the Elegoo Uno Revision 3 board and the USB cable as shown.Cable is around 45cm plug to plug.No special drivers are needed for uploading to this board. The USB interface chip is the same as that used on the genuine Uno - a Mega 16U2 - so the IDE is happy!The board is very smart in black. It is beautifully made and has the headers labelled on both sides to echo the labels on the board. In this respect it is better than the genuine Uno - as the labels on the genuine Uno for SCL and SDA are hidden by the 6 pin ICSP header. Having these labels on the headers of the ELEGOO board reduces the chances of connecting to the wrong pins when breadboarding.It comes preprogrammed with the standard blink sketch, so selecting Uno as the board in the IDE, a quick amend to the code in the IDE blink example, selecting the correct port, and compilation and upload was achieved without any problems.I have built my own basic DIY Uno boards in the past but, at this price, complete with a cable, it's a no brainer to simply get another one of these in future.It's an absolute bargain - particularly given that the Genuine Uno is around twice the price (and it doesn't come with a cable like the ELEGOO).I have no hesitation in recommending this if you are looking to have some Arduino fun!

Elegoo's copy of the Arduino Uno R3 is top notch quality for a very good price. From my experience, the performance is indistinguishable from the original Uno R3. Plus the addition of lables printed on the header pins is a great touch.
