Not a bad purchase
Decent kit if you're just looking to get started working with electronics. It has most of what you need to get off the ground at reasonable value. A few of the positives: - The breadboard is very nice, much better build quality than others I've purchased in the past. - The majority of the components work well. - The box and individual packaging of the components is useful and relatively well made. - The power supply module is attached to some foam so the pins won't bend in shipping. Then, the negatives: - The buzzers worked, but not very well. - The power supply module seems pretty cheap, and I doubt it will last long. It also doesn't come with an appropriate cable, so you'll have to supply your own to make use of it. I expected this last part because I read about its absence in other reviews, but I didn't anticipate it being such an odd cable required. - A few of the LEDs didn't work correctly (although the majority did). Overall, not a bad purchase, but if you already have some of the parts already, perhaps look for cheaper options, or something more reliable. Edit: ELEGOO contacted me after I wrote this review and sent me replacement parts without any hastle. I upgraded my rating since their customer service was so good.

Incredible value for money considering the quality
I started my interest in electronics in a different age, more than 40 years ago. In those days, breadboards were very expensive and out of the reach of most hobbyists. Many a time I recycled components and the stripboard, as the cost was prohibitive. A trip to the electronics shop was expensive, and much pocket money was diligently saved for the latest chip or piece of kit. This kit which I purchased to support my Elegoo Arduino, like the processor board itself, is top notch. Extremely well packaged, I was impressed with how much was crammed into the box. The fact that high-quality polythene bags were used for the components speaks volumes, although in my day we would be looking at tin-foil or anti-static bags for the more sensitive components. I get the impression once again that Elegoo care about their customers and the quality of their offering. My only criticism I can make is trivial. The breadboard is in 3 sections, with a large self-adhesive pad for attaching to a permanent surface. I'd have preferred if the pad was packed separately, that way I could expand the board horizontally without fuss if needed. As to how long the components will last etc., with care and attention they should last well. The legs of any component will eventually give up the ghost with too much bending, and wiring errors will easily kill off polarity sensitive components such as diodes and capacitors etc. All of that is part of the rough and tumble of circuit development and testing. I wouldn't expect the kit to last forever, but it certainly won't break once you take it out the packaging. I know if as a kid my dad had brought this home I would be ecstatic. If you are looking for a components kit to introduce someone as to how to expand their Arduino or Raspberry Pi, I can't recommend this enough. You will need to purchase a device separately to get any use from it though.

Failed for my specific need
I bought this initially to allow me to make up a little resistance network to calibrate a LiPo balance charger without having to solder everything. I bought a load of 1% 100ohm resistors separately and measured each one using a dmm so I could get 6 that were the same. The resistance values need to be very accurate for the calibration. There are things I like about the kit. It came very well packaged with a nice security seal and statement about rejecting the package if the seal was broken. Unfortunately, this was all inside the outer Amazon packaging and by the time I opened it up and saw the security seal on the inner package the delivery driver was long gone! Thankfully the seal was fine as were the contents. Everything is inside a nice plastic box, but there is so much in there that you have a hard job getting it all back inside the box after taking it out. There lots of items and I am sure that these will allow some fun and educational circuits to be made up. That was why I bought this and not just a standalone breadboard for a couple of pounds less. Glad I did because this brings me to the main negative point. After making up my resistor network on the breadboard and connecting everything to the balance lead for the charger I checked the resistance across the various connectors. Values were way off (once I managed to get any reading at all - some of the connector wires seemed to be making poor connections on the breadboard). I made up the circuit a different way and used the pin connector strip to connect into the balance lead. Very similar results, so I took it all apart and will solder the network together like I originally intended. I expect that for making up simple circuits on the breadboard for some fun and education purposes the kit will be fine (time will tell), but unfortunately for the specific purpose I bought it for it did not work (although I may have been expecting too much).

Good Value
First things first... Electronics involves small components and electricity; all be it in this case 9v DC maximum. So be careful. ***Note*** If the magic smoke escapes; the magic stops. Buy a 9v battery and a 9v battery holder with a barrel jack that works with a breadboard power supply; because it’s not got one. (Get over it) This kit can give you hands on experience making circuits to light LEDs, make flashing LEDs using Transistors etc. You can also learn about ‘Voltage Dividers, RC circuits, Series and Parallel circuits.’ It’s not restricted to what you will learn from the website. YouTube contains a wealth of information. This kit is a starting point that can lay down a solid foundation that can lead you to go on to buying more advanced kits that can prepare you for Arduino or Raspberry Pi projects. What I would suggest buying is a couple of 555 timers, a couple of Op Amps and a 4017 decade counter. (My personal thoughts) The thing is... This is a budget priced starter kit from a respected company that has provided some great lessons in electronics. They really are ok. To conclude... Great value kit but you’ll need to some power to power up the breadboard PSU and getting some extra ICs will mean it’ll have you making some cool stuff.

Decent, very broad
Good for value. One big problem. It DOES NOT say the forward voltage and amp rating for ANY of the products!

Got me through helping my daughter with STEAM project last minute at the weekend. Fantastic value.
This was bought last minute whilst I was traveling for work so I could help my daughter with her end of year STEAM project at a weekend. Along with an ESP32 I ordered separately we were able to quickly build her project up whilst I helped her over Skype. Great quality components (metal film resistors, no carbon), good range of LED's, little power board included and most importantly quite a solid breadboard. The jumper wires are a bit cheap but to have so many was great and made up for the 2-3 I broke whilst rushing with a layout. You'd be pushed to buy half the components separately in such small volume for the same price so this kit was greatly appreciated. And it arrived in 18 hours.

Decent for beginners
What I really liked about this kit is the variety of electric components in here they had transistors capacitors , potentiometer pretty much everything you need to get started with electronics except a programmable micro processor board like the audrino uno or something but overall great ,very high quality kit you cant go wrong with buying this, There was a few thing that really annoyed me one of those was the breadboard it was higher quality then anything I could on Ebay but it was still annoying to put you jumper wires in and I even accidentally broke some wires because i had to apply so much force to get them in ,I have to say it dose get easier over time but that really annoyed me and also that they didnt include F-F jumper but I can get over that. Overall great kot I have to say but it wouldn't hurt to open the the breadboard female parts(I dont know what to call them) so this wouldn't happen to others and I also wish they dodnt just shove alot of components in one bag like the leds which I sorted out later and wouldn't hurt ti let's the ic's to arrive in a bit of foam or something so the pins dont het damaged .

Useful for experimentation, development, or education--a great bargain!
Whether you want to be able to put together experimental circuits to try something out, develop a new device, or just start learning about electronics, this kit provides a surprisingly wide range of components (235 pieces!) at a very low price! Basically, it's a "breadboard"--a rectangular base with 400 holes (connection tie points) into which you can plug an included power supply module, pre-stripped connection wires (of various colors), and numerous resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, multicolored LEDs, switches, and various other parts (all included--but you can also supply additional parts of your own, if you wish) to construct circuits you want to try out or develop. There's so much in this kit that after you've emptied the box to look through all the parts it contains, you may have a bit of a struggle to get everything back into the box (but it can be done!). The breadboard itself is small--only 2.125" x 3.25"--but that's big enough to build up even fairly complex circuits. There is no printed documentation with the kit, except that a large flap on the inside of the box pictures (and names) each different component. Also, a tiny picture on the back of the box the breadboard comes in shows how rows of tie points are connected together (very helpful in learning how to make use of the board!). Importantly, much more detailed documentation is available on the manufacturer's website (specified on the box lid), and reading about it online will provide highly useful information. I found the kit to be a great bargain (especially after reading the online documentation!), and I have no complaints about the quality of the components provided. In particular, I was pleasantly surprised at how firmly the breadboard tie points gripped the wires and component leads that are inserted into them. Use of this kit will save me a lot of time in putting together circuits for testing and development.
