York Fitness Single Neoprene Hex coating Dumbbell

I was a dumbell and didn’t read the description fully - expected a pair and couldn’t believe how cheap they were, assumed the cheap price was due to them being black & not bright & bold colours like the others. I was wrong! Had to order another one the following day after receiving the first one. My fault. But had I have realised they were singles I would’ve purchased a pair of brightly-coloured ones for the same price!

Annoyed - put in Dumbbells (plural) and this popped up. Every other manufacturer supplies 2. Should have checked I guess but now could have bought a better make for cheaper had I known. Not many exercises are Done with one dumbbell

Like several other people, I missed the 'single' in the description. My own fault but every other supplier sells pairs, and by selling singles this supplier makes themselves look price-competitive in search results when in fact they're double the price of the other weights I purchased (same item price but come as a pair).Of course with them being heavy weights the return postage makes it not worthwhile. Next time I'll read the description more carefully.

I had requested a refund on this item as I had no idea (my fault for not reading the information correctly) that I would only be receiving 1 dumbbell for £42!! I must have thought that £42 was a lot and it must include 2 items. The packaging was completely degraded and had to be put in a Royal Mail plastic bag so when it arrived it wasn't well presented. I have contacted the company to ask if they could help with sending another item as I cannot use just one dumbbell for what I require it for but I've heard nothing back in many days. To send this item back at my cost would cost me £17 plus packaging so I am going to keep the item and hope in the future to buy another at half the price as I cannot use it as it is and I won't be spending another £42 on another. I'm disappointed that these items have shot up in price due to the current economy and I would advise to be sure of what you order when it comes to weights as to send them back and have to incur the cost makes it really not cost effective at all.

Comfortable to hold and good quality! I wasn’t paying attention whilst purchasing and thought you got a pair - you don’t, it’s just a single one. I’m clearly an idiot that should of read it through properly. When I realised my mistake I bought a second one :)

Really nice little DBs. 1.5 kgs are hard to find. York get the design of these spot on. The comfort is excellent, and they are ideal for warm up routines. I was apprehensive ordering this brand again. In the past I have received DBs from them slightly damaged and dusty, like they had been in store a while. These weights, however, are excellent quality, so maybe they have solved that issue. Though I was disappointed to received them in a Jiffy envelope, which had already opened itself and had been resealed by Royal Mail.

The shape of this weight is ideal and easy to hold. However, I was disappointed that it didn't have the wipe clean finish that my previous York weights have got. I've not had this finish before, but it feels like it could be hard to clean, and I'm also concerned about how hard wearing and durable it will be, compared to my others. That said, the finish may suit someone who suffers from very sweaty hands. And York is my brand of choice. It's not the cheapest one, but worth the bit extra.

These are great, easy to grip and hexagonal so don't roll away. I was going to pay nearly double for the Tunturi ones but then saw these - so pleased I did! Many of the poorer reviews of these on Amazon are down to packaging problems and the fact that it is one dumbbell and not a pair so obviously buy 2 of them and you won't be dissappointed! I can honestly say Amazon did a great job with my packaging - each dumbbell was wrapped in loads of bubblewrap and then boxed up in small boxes and then put in a larger box for delivery, padded out with extra brown paper. The Yodel man moaned about the weight of the box but everything was very well contained in the package. Recommended but remember to buy 2!
