Nice easy read
It’s a really good read . I’m from the area it’s set in so it was a wonderful trip down memory lane . I purchased a second copy for a birthday present for a family member also from the area . If your not from the area it’s set in it’s still a really good read

The author paints a picture of family life in words - a super read!
The author vividly, and humorously when least expected, invites us into the lives of the Knott family, particularly teenager Phillip, his younger brother James, older sister Grace and their parents, to become a fly on the wall of one working-class family in Coventry in the early 1970s. From the outset, I was instantly transported into the Knott's kitchen, where my senses invited me to smell the bacon that Francis Knott was busy frying for his son's breakfast, and the soothing familiarity of Phillip Knott helping himself to the pint of milk from the fridge; a staple breakfast for many of us in the 70s. The author's uncanny way of presenting a visual representation, in the minutest details, ensures that you're locked into the world of The Knotts. This novel is most definitely an expressive, entertaining and emotive page-turner, a super read!

Such a great snapshot of the time.
Really loved reading this book,It painted such a vivid picture of the era.Being of a similar age to the main character and a Leeds fan it was particularly pertinent.I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to look back on those times.Pretty grim era to be honest and this book paints a very realistic picture.
