Very effective rodent killer
I already had one of these and was really impressed by how well it worked. After a recent invasion of mice in my house where I caught the little blighters devouring the dried fruit and nuts in my store cupboard, I cleaned out the cupboard the put these two new traps down.Within a couple of days I'd rid the property of mice and my restocked cupboard is now better protected.

Useless
Totally useless! I’ve actually seen mice actually walking around them, avoiding them. Had mice for weeks and they are eating poison but avoiding these traps every time. Bought x 4 of these and not a single mouse caught and the mice are still running riot, tried the attractant and all sort of other things like peanut butter, these traps are a waste of time!

Easy to set up
Did the trick

Quick, humane and no ghastly mess! Can be temperamental.
Fairly simple and certainly most humane way to dispose of problematic mice.Moving into a Farmhouse we had ALOT of little critters making unwanted appearances. We didn’t actually realise how many until we started using various forms of pest control. After catching many through traditional mouse traps, they started to stop falling for it, and despite having the ‘quick-kill’ mousetraps which were certainly humane in their speed, they weren’t so pleasant to dispose of.Enter the electric mouse killer. This was brilliant in many ways, but I found after a while it did have a few flaws.Firstly, I noticed the entry hole seemed very small. Don’t worry about that, they cheeky little critters will certainly fit.Setting it up with either cheese, peanut butter or Nutella, the first couple of nights we had zero luck, whilst the other traps in the vicinity caught a few. Maybe they just got there first.Soon though, we were catching mice each night. What was best was it was so easy to dispose of. No nasty ‘kill bar’ to have to release and the mice just look like they were asleep instead of any unpleasant mess to clean. After a while though, it stopped working. The green light showed it was powered on, but the mice were happily entering the device, eating their full and getting away.I found that cleaning the electric plates with some wet paper towels (MAKE SURE TO TURN OFF AND REMOVE BATTERIES) did the trick, the next day it was back catching. But now it seems I have to clean the device this way each time for it to work. For this reason I gave it 4 star instead of a full 5 star. With this in mind, is it worth the money compared to a normal ‘quick kill’ mouse trap?Well, if you live in a Farmhouse/Countryside and inundated with ‘visitors’, then perhaps not, as multiple traps would cost a lot. However, if you have just one-or-two little critters you’d like to rid yourself of, then this would be good. The main difference - no nasty kill mess to deal with compared to cheaper mousetraps, so if you’re a little squeamish, or don’t want to be upset by any mess, then this is definitely for you.

It worked!
After discovering we had mice I had pest control out. He blocked the gaps /holes by the pipes and laid poison. But the next day i saw a mouse hiding under the fridge!. I bought this trapbaited it with peanut butter (apparently crunchy is best as its more dense but I could only find smooth), put it under the kitchen cabinets where there was mouse activity but 4 days later nothing. So I moved it and put it by the kitchen wall instead. 2 days later it caught the mouse, hurray!!The night before the mouse got caught I also soaked cotton balls in peppermint oil and placed in the corners of the other rooms in my flat to repel the mouse from those rooms. My thinking was it would stay contained in the kitchen and go to the trap instead of exploring around my flat. Hope this helps someone.

It works! But snap traps have worked better
I used this alongside the traditional snap traps, and the latter found more success.I guess this electric trap is good to diversify and add to your arsenal. It’s also easy to clean and empty.

Works great... Better than expected.
We are converting an old rural building, still have slate slab floors and walls with holes... Mice are an issue. Was using spring traps, the Big Chease ones, which work well untill the mice are breading at which point the smaller mice simply walk over the trap and nick the penut butter. Overall catch rate drops off to nothing and bait is still disapeering so we know there are still mice to catch.I spent ages looking at electric traps of all sorts and reading reviews.Bought the Big Chease unit, despite a couple of lackluster reviews, as it semed no worse than any other and was a good price from a well known brand.Well I am amazed...I dont think it kills everything that walks in but dosnt hang arround however I suspet this is by design.I think there is a delay to fool the mice into a false sense of security and let them chow down for a few seconds before despatching them. I saw review saying the mice know when electric traps are on, and they very well might, but the delay seems to teach them all is well... Untill it isnt, at which point it is too late.Spring traps were continually tripping and not catching anything, once that had benn down for 24 Hrs, clever mice!, this so far has fooled them entirly...The trap has been down since monday, mid morning... Took it out of th box, added penut butter and batteries and switched it on. Its now Tuesday early afternoon just about to go and take out mouse No 8, No7 was removed less than 15 mins ago... Way more nice than I thought we had having only seen/heard one very occasionally.Had I been in all day yesterday I suspect we would be well into double figures by now... A bit horrifying to be honestTrap No 2 just ordered just now, cant recomend this unit highly enough.I only review very good and very bad things... This is definatly the former...Al
