I have a two pin headset for my old laptop. My new one has one hole. Is this the kind of splitter I need to use my headset on the new laptop?

I am using mine to provide separate headphone and microphone connections for an android tablet. If you only have one hole for audio in your laptop, it seems likely that this is what you would be looking for. Your laptop's manual - if you don't have a paper copy you can often find one by googling the model number - should explain its conectivity options.

will this work with the razer kraken gaming headset ?

I don't believe so. I think the Razer Kraken headset has a combined headphone/microphone jack. This connector is the exact opposite. It enables you to plug in an (older style) separate headphone and microphone into a device that requires a combined jack like that already on the Kraken.If you want to use the headset with a device that needs a separate jack for the headphones and microphone you need a different product - one with a combined plug that splits it into two jacks.
