Vallejo Model Color 60 ml Matt Liquid Varnish

I paint warhammer minis, and I live in a city centre apartment with no garden. I therefore can't use an aerosol spray and don't have the space or the inclination to use an airbrush. This varnish is perfect for those that want to apply varnish to their minis with a traditional brush. It thins down very nicely with water, goes on smoothly and dries quickly. An excellent product.

I personally like this varnish. Looks a bit like the old style school pva glue, but it dries well and gives a good finish, although it's not a 100% matt finish. Happy with the product. No complaints.

(Applied with a flat brush over Tamiya Acrylic) Not quite Matt, but it covers the surface evenly and dries quick. Water can be added to thin it, though I found it settles well regardless.Extra coats can be applied after letting it cure for 3-4 hours, though I found it didn't change the finish much.Overall, pretty good, especially for the price.

This Varnish is fantastic for scale models, no issues with any paint finishes etc - great value for money too - chuffed, will buy again

The bottle needs a good shake to make it matt and use thinners with an airbrush.

Firstly, if you are looking for a properly Matte varnish don't bother with Vallejo Matt Acrylic Varnish. It really is just a weak Satin finish. AK Interactive Matte and Ultra Matte will give you the finish you want.So with that out of the way while the shine reduction is disappointing for something claiming to be Matt, the Vallejo varnish is otherwise rather good. It goes on easily with a regular brush (I don't use an airbrush for this), it takes a little while to dry so you can work it around your model without getting stroke marks and I have never had a problem with it "frosting" (the hazy white finish that can spoil your hard work).It dries in about 30 minutes per coat providing you don't bucket it on. And even if you do accidentally apply too much it's very forgiving and just takes longer to dry. Multiple coats do not greatly affect the shine reduction, a single coat will give you much the effect as two of more coats.To Sum Up: Not Matte, more Satin. Otherwise very good.

Great, easy to use

Have tried other (so called) matt varnishes and they range from gloss through to satin finish. This dries to a pleasing sort of egg shell finish, very pleased with this product.

Ich benutze es meistens für die ganzen Decals, wenn man ein matten Untergrund hat, damit sie nicht mehr so glänzen im Licht.Ich mische etwas (ca. 20%) Wasser noch hinzu und streiche die Oberfläche/Decals mit einen Pinsel. Nach ca. 4 Stunden eventuell noch mal eine dünne schicht, wenn die Decals noch etwas glänzen sollten. Meistens reicht aber eine Schicht.Man kann es unter anderen auch bei Klarsichtteilen verwenden, damit diese auch nicht mehr glänzen, aber man hat dann bei den Klarsichtteilen eine Art Milchige durchsichtige Oberfläche.Man muss auch nicht so eine dünne schicht verwenden und kann ruhig etwas dicker die schicht machen (wenn man noch Wasser hinzumischt), da alles gut trocknet und einzieht.Ich persönlich bin absolut zufrieden und kann es nur empfehlen.
