I want to run my tube amp through this so I can use headphones. Does it have XLR input?

Hi. I am A bit confused about which leads I need to have to connect the mixer to my laptop?

Hello there, I can't really answer your question as I use the Behringer 802 8 for mixing live music, my guitar and microphone. I am no electronics expert by any means but I assume that this mixer is for mixing various instruments and vocals and then passing the mixed sound to an amp or recording console. There doesn't seem to be a USB socket on this mixer. If you are wanting to record your music to a lap top you could try something like the 'Tascam DP 008'. This is free standing and then you download to computer via a mini USB. I have a 'Tascam DP008' and I sometimes use the 'Behringer' to mix and then put the mix to the 'Tascam'. The 'Tascam' is over £200- however.I have noticed on the 'Behringer' web site that there is a model that can be used for recording and it comes with software. It may be a good idea to look at this site and see if you can find the model and then try pricing it on 'Amazon'. I'm sorry I can't be of anymore help as I don't know what you are aiming to achieve.Chris.

Can I use this to record a microphone input through the jack on my laptop?

Yes if your laptop "mic" input can be configured as an Line-input. Otherwise, the output level of main line output of the mixer is too high for a microphone input that will cause serious distortion.

Can I input sound through a mic and sound through an iPod and listen on earphones to combined sound as well as record to a laptop from this mixer?

you would be better to purchase Behringer Premium 8 Input 2 Bus Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamps/Compressors/British EQs and USB/Audio Interface. Also available on this site. This mixer has a USB interface so you would plug a (supplied) usb cable from the mixer into a usb socket on your laptop. The mixer will then show up as a sound source in the recording software you are using. Audacity is a very good free software recording app to use on your laptop.
