Best headphones under £50
After losing my Freedom 1 headphones, I decided to purchase these as a replacement. Great sound,as the 1st editions are, and a better fit(despite other reviews to the contrary). Battery life still not great, but for sound and comfort alone....5 stars. The best part?? Under £50!!! Unrivalled at this price and nothing even comes close.

difficult start, can't recommend, too many negatives
Update Feb 19Still hate these. Now need to buy brand new Bluetooth headphones tomorrow because I can't find the stupid charger bit. I hope they read the feedback about how crap everyone thinks these headphone are because of some very poor design decisions.UpdateStill raging one year later. That stupid detachable charger ruins these. I loose it nearly everyday and it's so frustrating. Unfortunately I can't super glue it somewhere permenant so it doesn't get lost because the battery life of the headphones is so poor i have to take the charger with me. The charger and pouch are black and small so perfect for dissappearing in bags, pockets, around the house. In addition to the charger constantly going missing, the detachable ear buds occasionally come off in bags too... even more tiny, black objects that dissappear and you have to keep track of. When I first got the headphones I thought this would be okay, but I'll never get something like this again... I can't constantly keep track of 5 different small black objects all the time, which without anyone makes the headphones unusable.UpdateDown to 1 star as I've just found out the cheapest replacement charger is £35. F***ING rip-off, considering that's over a third of the headphone price and is so easy to loose. Wtf are you playing at jaybird.Review from using for one monthPositives- Good sound- Very comfortable- Very secure**. Dont fall out when running, cycling- Still reccommend them despite all my negative pointsNegatives- ** Only secure if I attach the wire to my head, either clip it to a sweat headband when running, or to my bicycle helmet. Have tried wearing them every other way imaginable and this is the only way I've found the wire doesn't grip to my skin, and tug the headphones immediately out if I turn my head.- Easy for the buds to come off and get lost when transporting. Always keep them in the carry case now.- First pair arrived with a broken battery that wouldn't hold charge.- Replacement has a working battery but wouldnt connect to my iPad. Checked their FAQs and resetting the Bluetooth on the headphones resolved the problem. (It should be able to pair with 8 devices without needing this reset).- Couldn't find their app initially as it was listed under iPhone only on the apple App Store, but works fine on iPadsNeutral- Custom charger clip isn't ideal as it's another thing I have to carry with me + easy to lose. But bought them knowing about this downside.- Battery life is okay, would prefer headphones to last a few hour longer for marathons, but again, bought them knowing this limitation.

My new daily driver. Great price, great build quality/ergonomics, good sound, battery life could be better.
I was previously a user of the Shure SE425, a pretty high performance and accurate earphone. I was resistant to move from wired to wireless but I didn't want to spend a huge chunk of money on some high end wireless earphones without using any before.I have now had the Jaybird Freedom 2 for about 4 months. At first I was initially disappointed with the sound it is still leagues better than any standard earphone (Apples Wireless Earbuds) at a similar price. It will definitely be an improvement for the standard earphone user but wont fill the gap for an audiophile. The app for these lets you set a highly custom EQ which saves the sound quality and turns them into a great pair or earbuds for casual listening. Otherwise, the ergonomics are good and they don't fall out during exercise. The battery life leaves a little to be desired at 4 hours but the little battery pack provides and additional 4 hours if you run short and cant find a USB charger. All in all these earphones are now my daily driver and I expect to be replacing them in a year or so with similar Jaybird model that has a longer battery life.

Stellar audio but charging dongle is a questionable choice.
First, the good: the audio quality is really really good, if a bit bass-heavy. At default settings, this is tailored for bass-heads, however the mids and highs still shine. There's an iOS and Android EQ app which is probably the best EQ / preset app I've ever used, with hundreds of EQ presets and the ability to fine-tune the audio to your preference. Compared to stock Apple earbuds for example, this is an easy pick for sound quality, easily competing with equivalent Beats units. Now the not-so-good: using a proprietary charging dongle was a questionable choice; it's so small and so easy to lose track of, and unfortunately there's no other way to charge the unit without the add-on. Also, after nearly a year of use, the rubber housing protecting the cable at the point where it meets the control unit came apart, making it a less viable workout / fitness option (sweat concerns).TLDR: For a daily commute or light listening pair, this is a really good pair of earphones with stellar audio quality (once tweaked with the iOS / Android app EQ or presets). However the tiny dongle is a major concern as it's easy to misplace, and that takes one star off what would have been a four-star rating.

Broke too soon for the money.
For this price I would expect a product with a longer lifespan. I use mine for working out and while I work in the garage. They get regular, steady use. Recently they started randomly and intermittently giving be connection issues. Then suddenly the LED has stopped working to designate that the headphones are charging although they do charge. Now they do not turn on sometimes unless the charging battery is connected to them as I turn them on. They also seem to have trouble knowing their current charged status. They'll say 60% but then state 'charge me' and die no more than 5 minutes later. This is obviously very annoying on a run. All these problems have emerged before getting to the two year mark of owning these headphones. My previous Jaybirds lasted 4 years with regular use before breaking so less than 2 is very disappointing.
