They work
Bought these as i suspected something was wrong. So tried these before seeing a doctor just to see and they worked. A later doctor appointment confirmed my suspicions.

Accurate and less painful than the finger prick
After reading all the reviews I noticed that the negative comments all said they testecd the test strips in sugar water. Of course they wouldn't work, the strips are for measuring the amount of glucose in your urine, and sugar is not glucose. The best way to check the accuracy of the strip is to make a tiny cut in a grape and put the strip into the cut, leave for a few seconds and remove the strip. Wait for 60 seconds and you will see the colour change to a medium brown colour, showing that the grape contains glucose. These strips are accurate as I had 2 negative results and both times I confirmed the result by using the blood test strip which showed my glucose levels within the normal range. So now I can use these rather than having perpetual bruised and sore finger pads. Great value for money as the lancets and blood tests strips are very expensive. So I will be using these in future and definitely buying more, my fingers thank you.

Does not measure glucose
I bought these to measure glucose in my cat's urine as the vet wanted to check his water drinking and weight gain weren't diabetes. The strips stayed the same blue indicating no glucose. I was pleased. But then I thought I'd check the strips were working so I tried my urine (I'm not diabetic but I am overweight and middle-aged!) again the strips didn't change colour. Again I was pleased. But then I thought I still don't really know if these are measuring zero or are faulty. So I mixed a spoon of sugar in a little water and tested that. The strips stayed the same blue. There was definitely a measurable amount of glucose in the cup and the strips should have changed colour, but they didn't. So totally useless and a waste of money. the pack was well within date (by over a year) and was sealed when I got it.

Handy To Have In Your Pocket
Most diabetics test their BG (blood glucose) these days. However these stripes are handy to have. If I show the presence of glucose in the urine it means my BG is over 10 (this varies between individuals as the renal threshold varies). It's also a handy check for non-diabetic relatives and friends past the first flush of youth. If they get a positive result it really a trip to the GP. My other use for them is to check soft drinks. Unfortunately there are some staff in particularly fast food and pub chains who assume people ordering diet drinks just want to lose weight and cannot be bothered to serve what was ordered! Idiots or what?!
