The Answer To My USB 3.0 Needs
This is the 2nd USB 3.0 card I tried in my 13 year old computer having only USB 2.0 ports front and back, as the 1st card I tried was unpowered and wasn't providing enough 'juice' to operate all my portable HDDs. For this card I used a spare SATA power connector which gives it the kick I need to run all of my various portable hard drive units with no problem. I also had to purchase a ribbon PCI-E cable extension in order to allow the use of this card as I have a large GPU card which sits right over the top of my PCI-E X1 slot. Luckily, Amazon sells those as well for under $10 so I pulled the graphics card, installed the new ribbon cable with 90 degree connectors on each end to get around the graphics card and connect up the new USB 3.0 card. After getting my old eMachines ET-1831-07 all back together, I installed the Beyimei driver CD, (as I'm running Windows 7), and it loaded very easily and I was ready to go. Does it work?? You Bet! Wow, what a vast improvement over the 1st unpowered USB 3.0 card I tried - this card will power up any and all my various external drives without a hiccup. Why didn't I install this Beyimei card in the first place?? IF you're planning to upgrade an old USB 2.0 PC to USB 3.0 and you're going to be running old external HDDs, my advice is to install THIS card as it works Great with older systems and has plenty of power for whatever needs you have and it's a complete kit for less $$ than the unpowered USB 3.0 card. And now I'm installing a PNY SSD and will just use my old WD Black HDD for backup ~ my old eMachines ought to Love That!

Works Perfect
This adapter card works perfect. I did a custom build, and screwed up the pins on the motherboard for the case front panel connecter for the USBs. The pins on this are much more solid, and I had no trouble connecting the cable to it. Plugged into a PCIEX1 slot on the motherboard, booted up, and it worked right away, no drivers needed! Five stars. Would buy again

I wish every hardware install was this easy
When I built my PC earlier this year, I ended up breaking a pin off of the internal connector for the front panel USB ports. Only one of them would transfer data after that. Well, for <$20 I installed this card and now have both front USB ports working again, along with additional ports in the back. Honestly, the install took less than 10 minutes. No drivers needed on Windows 11. It couldn't have been easier.

Works great, but...
The product worked well, giving me near USB 3.0 speeds. But if you connect a cable to the internal USB header, be aware that that's a permanent connection. There is no disconnecting it without destroying both the header and the cable plugged into the header. Now I'm forced to buy another one to replaced the ruined one. Plan carefully!

Dual Port Type C + A Review
This is a review for the version thats has one USB-C port and one type A port. I used a cable certified for USB 3.2 Gen 1 rated for power delivery. The USB-C port provides around 2.5gbps data speed, but it does not provide any power for charging if that’s what you are looking for (even with the SATA connector installed). The USB-A port also provides around 2.5gbps data and charges at 896ma max at 5V (~4.5W).This is one of the few PCIe cards that works with 1x slots so is a good option for adding a USB-C data port to an older PC. However, the offset location of the port places it close to the edge of the card and may be partially blocked by your PC chassis. You can mount it slightly offset at an angle to provide more clearance, but this is not ideal for having it sexurely in the PCIe slot.If you are looking at this card as a solution for Oculus link, it will provide high speed data for a good USB 3.0 connection, but will not charge your Oculus. You are better off getting a link cable that includes a splitter for a USBC power adapter and also has a USB A connector for data.

Made up for blocked sata ports. Reliable unit.
Works well, older bios reads it as bootable drive. I built an older system as a media pc/ and virtual server/hyper v mule (CIS student). When I added a full size GFX card to the microatx board, it pretty much made the sata ports unusable. I managed to squeeze the primary ssd connector, and the rest (3) I routed to the card. Doesn't seem to reduce speed, 1 ssd and two older (circa 2008) mirrored 5400 laptop HDDs on it. I am able to get 100mb/s off the mirrored 5400s which I definetly won't complain about. No speed loss on the SSD it seems (sata 3.0 mobo). No errors associated with it thus far.

Exactly what i thought it would be! AMD Phenom 9500
I was putting together my very old 4 core AMD Phenom I 9500 and I put it in a DeepCool case that had USB3.x front USB jacks. 785G does not have support for USB3.x so I got this card and installed it. I run Linux Mint Debian on it and the card was picked up on autopilot no issues. Literally just plugged it in and began using it. Didn't need any extra installation to be done so no headaches. Now I have an old Phenom I that has USB3.x and even USB-C and runs on Linux like a brand new PC. Super fast! I got Chinese RX580 8GB card 2048SP in it too and I can even play some cool games on it. Steam + Proton = Sweet! Who needs Windozzzzzz?!!!! Good for programming too, JetBrains runs fine on it. other IDEs like NetBeans are good too! Java and Python are good! Even that new ".NET Junior" runs good on it too. Would recommend this card for any of you who want to put this type of capability. it's a solid product and worked, at least for me, well out of the box! Would buy this card again if I have a need for it. I may probably need in the future, because with Linux I've discovered that you can keep your PCs for much longer durations, if you take care of them well and don't abuse with overclocking. My Phenom I 9500 works like brand new in that Linux build. No issues with any slowdowns like on WindozzzzZZZZzzz these days and, yeah, no telemetry sending to M$ either! Don't need like 16 cores to run my Linux unlike latest WindozzzZZZzzz! Guys like this seller just help keep stuff that already works well to work even longer! Love this concept because it is good for the environment since you don't need to throw your good machine in a "garbage" because "your OS", wink-wink -> WindozzzzZZZzzz, runs slow or too bloated! Also, big shout to Mint, Proton, and Steam guys!!! Keep it up my friends, big love to ya'll!

Works
It works. I bought a different one from a different company which I had to return. This one actually worked and it was much cheaper than some of the other options. The only thing is I don't seem to be able to wake my PC from my mouse or keyboard if they are plugged into this card but that is barely an issue.

nunca funcionaron los drivers en windows 11
fue imposible de instalar, los drivers no funcionaban con windows 11 ni con windows 10. Lo compré para un oculus quest 2 y nunca lo detectó como usb 3.0.
