Draper 23554 Soldering Iron Stand, Blue

The product arrived on time and is great value for the money that I had to spend to purchase it. The product is very well made and does exactly what you would expect it to do! I have purchased many items prior to this one and I do not always write any sort of product review but on this occasion I thought I would. I have used my purchase for the first time today and I am more than impressed with its functionality and its stability.

It does the job just fine, and what I particularly like about this one is that, compared to other holders I used in my life, this one is quite heavy and hence, stable, so I didn't have to stick coins or other heavy stuff to the bottom to prevent it from moving or falling down. Recommend! I put 5* for 'Lightweight' to avoid rating going down for a really good tool, but it's quite heavy and it is great!

Heavy, sturdy and competent. Better than the cheap, flimsy ones, especially if you're using a mains soldering iron with a cable which exerts a bit of drag. I would have liked some way to attach to my bench without modifiying it - should be relatively easy to do but it should also be pre-drilled and better yet, supplied with nuts and bolts as a fixed option. Hence, 4 stars and only just - that black piece at the top of the sprung housing is plastic and should be metal like the base. Does the job tho.

Abseloutely great. Holds my soldering iron very well, much better than the bent piece of Aluminum that my iron came with. Watering the sponge for the first time was an abseloute blast, as it turns from as thick as card to the size of an iphone 5. The dual layered springs ensure that brushing up against it won't turn your shirt into a firelighter, and also seem to lessen the risk of knocking the actual iron out of it.

After melting a hole in our carpet using the flimsy stand supplied with a soldering iron kit I purchased, I decided it was necessary to invest a sturdier soldering iron stand. The reviews for this Draper model seemed positive and the tapering dual spring design meant it should accommodate both smaller and large soldering irons. The price is excellent and I have to say the quality is also high. The stand is supplied with the spring separate and you just need to attach it with a wing nut supplied. The sponge comes dehydrated and almost looks like a piece of card until you soak it in water when it then becomes usable. The stand is weighty and although it doesn't have rubber feet, the epoxy coated metal is smooth enough not to damage your worktops. Make sure before you start your soldering session that you moisten the sponge. Overall a great value stand!

Sturdy with solid metal base, wider spring area fits my blue draper soldering iron. The sponge swells out to bigger than the gap for it but still works fine. Mush better than previous ones I had

Soldering has been a hobby for many years. More recently I received some Instruction from someone who really knows what he's doing. With my new and worthy knowledge, I bought this to complement an 'iron' he brought for me. The latter remains safety away whilst in between applications and the sponge speaks for itself.

Decent enough, but if you plan to just get it out every now and again, get a different one. Get this if you want a soldering iron stand that's always set up. You have to unscrew everything to put it away.

Poco que decir, los materiales están bien, y la pieza es estable. Un detalle hubiera sido incluir dos esponjas más de repuesto, pero vaya, eso lo puede hacer cualquiera. Por el precio que tiene está bien.

Fait son boulot de socle, l'éponge n'est pas très utile et s'use rapidement car très fine Bon rapport qualité prix je recommande

Macht in sich einen guten Eindruck und steht auch schön stabil auf dem Tisch. Ist auch für Lötkolben mit direktem Schukostecker (ohne Lötstation) geeignet.

Il supporto è ottimo. La spugna ancora non l'ho provata. La base è molto pesante quindi regge molto bene il saldatore. Sono soddisfatto.

Je vais etre tatillon mais la mousse pour essuyer le fer est trop fine. Préparez vous à la Remplacer sous quelques semaines.... Le poids est juste si vous avez un fer lourd, attention s'il y a de l'agitation autour de vous. Le mien, les enfants l'ont fait tomber deux fois en 1h Et j'aurais préféré un autre système de montage qu'un ecrou papillon Bref c'est pas cher. Ça dépanne. Mais pour un usage quotidien prenez autre chose
