I bought this bike, the 18” Royal Freestyle for my grandson, who was relying on training wheels to ride his other bike. Once the training wheels were removed, my grandson still had problems with his balance. This bike practically gives my grandson the balance he needed to control, as well as the courage, motivation and ambition to ride with 2 wheels and not be dependent on 4 wheels. It is simple to use. The bike came in a well contained box and is extremely simple to attach the handlebars. Due to the extreme weather in Phoenix and him having a long vacation after school, it's been about 6 weeks since I purchased the bike. When I showed him what I bought for him, he was so happy and excited, and I hope that I never lose that memory of his smile and reaction. When I showed and explained to him how it worked, I realized I was missing the pedals that are attached, after the child is confident enough to use the pedals. I may have misplaced the "arm and pedals" that attach to the bike. I honestly don't know. I contacted Cycle Force and explained the situation. I offered to pay for the parts that I could not locate. The customer service representative was pleasant and understanding of my situation. He offered to send me the parts that I could not locate for free, even though I offered to pay for them since I thought I may have misplaced the original parts that were sent to me. He assured me that customer service for their customers were their number 1 priority, and they would ship me the parts I needed, at no cost to me. I received the parts within 5 days after our email and phone communications. Thank you, Cycle Force! My grandson loves his new bike, and we have already installed the pedals. If I am fortunate enough to have more grandchildren, I will purchase your bicycle before any training wheel type of bike! You have a GREAT product!

Let me start with this, TAUGHT HIMSELF in two days flat. One day was rainy and he came on early, so technically ONE day @ 15 mins. If you are frustrated, worried or clueless about teaching your child how to ride a bike, I am taking time out for once and writing this review for you. We had a few days of a rough start teaching my son to ride, then somehow kicked the can down the road too far. One day we realized all his friends knew, and he didn't. So I knew he HAD to learn before this summer or else he may get picked on or devolop a complex about it. Don't know how I came across this solution, but it worked for us just as advertised. EASY to assemble, quality bike that he is proud to ride, I am grateful for the confidence and joy of riding my son QUICKLY experienced because of this bike.. Highly recommend!

The video’s game plan works. A couple of weeks using the bike as a glider, with larger and larger periods of time with feet off the ground, then put in the peddles and my 7 year old was good to go. That was after a couple month of struggling going from training wheels to no training wheels on her W-mart bike. Anyway, the only reasons I am rating it 4 stars instead of 5 starts are: (1) the “royalbaby” name on the handles and on every groove on the wheel are a detraction. I’m going to sand off the “baby” part on the handles, but likely will have to replace the tires. 7 and 8 (and possibly later, 9) year olds don’t like riding bikes that say “baby” on them. Note that the frame just says Royal, which is fine. (2) they need to find a better mechanism to cover the nuts when in glide bike mode. The little plastic bars that are currently used stick out a bit much and if the kids legs go too far inside, contact with that spinning bar hurts. A semi-spherical ish piece that juts out as little as possible would be MUCH better.

This bike is a fantastic choice for young riders! Our seven year old was confidently riding without training-wheels in under 10 minutes!! It’s sturdy, well-built, and the perfect size for beginners. The adjustable seat and handlebars make it easy to grow with your child, and the smooth ride ensures they’ll feel confident on their first adventures. The bright, fun design is a big hit with our daughter, and the safety features give me peace of mind. A great balance of quality and value that was incredibly easy to put together!

Great bike. Wish the instructions were easier to understand. I’m going to have to take it to a shop to figure out the hand brakes.

It's a pretty good bike, once I got it. The handlebars have to be tighter down HARD, for them to stay firm. The bike is beautifully made. The switch out mechanism for the pedals worked really well, but he barely used the pegs before wanting to switch to pedals. I kind of regret paying extra for that feature. I could have just put the pedals on myself. The first time I ordered it they gave me a used one, I think. It was loose (was missing packaging), had a scratch in it's beautiful red frame, missing hardware, and was a waste of my time. They took it back and shipped me a new one, and it was beautifu, but seriously brought my scoring down. As mentioned before I got the version with the switch-out peg -> pedals, which comes with the rocket thing under the seat, instead of a water bottle. I kind of regret not getting the one with the water bottle.

My almost 7 year old has been struggling to ride a bike, we have tried all different types but this one!! He was able to take off within minutes, he is so happy he can ride a big kid bike and wants to ride all day. “This is the best bike in the world!” “I love the color!!” Just some of the things he has said about his new bike. I love how lightweight it is and the fact that my 15 year old son was able to put it together without help.
