Drop-in replacement for the originals on a Squire Jazz bass
I replaced the pickups on an older Squire jazz bass, and they were an exact fit, easy to install and my customer is pleased with the look and the sound quality of these pickups. It's a good deal for the price!

Great pickup for the price
Not the best quality, but it's the highest quality in this price range IMO. Great replacement for beginners or people making their first bass.

These Are Great
I almost hate to say this, as China and Amazon seem to be taking over everything but these pickups are great. I own a Squire Affinity P Bass for which these pups are a HUGE upgrade. These sound so much richer, fuller and musical than the stock pups it's hard to believe the performance vs price ratio. I probably paid on the high end for these as they sometimes go on sale for about 2 dollars less but I didn't want to wait and they are well worth it.Installation was a cinch as the P bass has its 2 pups wired in series, these FLEOR pups came already wired in series leaving only the black and white wires to be soldered to the pots exactly how the old pups were wired. Pick guard is tight on these but did't require any modification though you could open the pups hole up just a little bit, and I mean just a little, you don't want to butcher your pick guard. If I was going to open it up I'd use a fine file and just gently take off a few thousands off each side of the hole. Still, I didn't need to but pickups are tight so it's up to you, didn't bother me. If you want to raise these pups after install you might have to pull them up with your fingers after loosening the screws as they're tight enough they won't float back up on their own without a little tug.Again though, people say for the price, but to be honest these are good enough I couldn't really see justifying paying for Duncan's unless you're a top professional. Even then, these have a character of their own and the frequency response is very nice, once again, giant improvement over Squire stock. If you have a bass and the pups aren't doing it for you, try these, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Amazing!
I build off-brand basses and decided to give these a shot with the reviews. They sound awesome!! For the price they are MORE than worth it, they have a vintage bright kind of sound to them. The tone is comparable to the 74 P bass and 68 tele bass I've played.

Best cheap upgrade for a Squier
Bought this as an upgrade to the pickup that came in my Squier Affinity PJ bass. The Squier pickups sound pretty horrible so just about anything would be an upgrade. I put a Fleor ceramic p-bass pickup in my Ibanez before and it sounded pretty decent. I splurged on the Alnico pickup this time, and I do feel it sounds a bit smoother and has a fuller tone than the ceramic version. Night and day compared to the Squier pickup. The stock pickup came in at 6.8k resistance, the new one read 8.53, and when I tapped the poles with a screwdriver, the magnets felt like they had more grab than the Squier ones. I can’t directly compare to more expensive pickups, but it is the sound I hear on recordings, and I’m satisfied.I didn’t care for the gloss on the covers, so I swapped them with the matte finished Squier ones, and therefore didn’t have any of the fitment issues that others had.

Won't fit through Fender Precision Bass pickguard
I bought this to upgrade a Squier P Bass. The install was easy and the pickup sounded great, a huge improvement over Squier's stock pickup. The problem arose when I tried to replace the pickguard; the pickup covers were too large to fit through the cutouts. I tried three different pickguards, including one genuine Fender from my American Professional P Bass, with no luck. I then tried replacing the pickup covers with a set of Fender covers. I was able to get them on the pickups and put on the pickguard, but the magnet holes didn't align, so I put the original covers back on. A little filing/sanding on the pickguard cutouts was necessary to get everything situated. If you're willing to do a little minor surgery on your pickguard cutouts, this is an excellent low-cost alternative to a genuine Fender pickup. Except for the odd-sized covers, this would be a 5-star pickup.

Amazing Value for Alnico Bass Pickup
This might be the best upgrade you can make to an old beater P-Bass. I was looking at my friend's MIM Standard recently, and the electronics had become intermittent. I took a look at the pickup (cheap ceramic, really, like most MIM Standard stuff) and found that we needed a new one, so I ordered this.Honestly, I was impressed in finding that this pickup is as fine as any aftermarket pickup I have bought. The build quality is very good, and mine came with mounting screws and height foam/spring, where you put the spring inside the foam to give the pickup a very secure mounting setup. This is a vintage output, very standard issue P Bass pickup w/ Alnico magnets. There are other more expensive pickups that you might prefer, but you might also find that you prefer this one over ones that are more expensive if you prefer a vintage sound. It won't be an upgrade if you already have a vintage output Alnico pickup, but if you wish your MIM Standard or Squier Affinity sounded more like a real P Bass, this will definitely get you closer. Mine measured around 8.6K.The only thing I might suggest is that, as with all bass pickups, please be very gentle with the flimsy mounting screws and use the correct sized screwdriver. Put a little soap on the threads before you screw them in, and don't strip the heads. I actually ended up using Fender pickup screws, which I already had, and you'll be glad to know that these pickups can handle not only the stock metric screws but also the slightly fatter USA spec Fender mounting screws.

Needed modification to fit Glarry bass
The mounting ears and the mounting hole locations did not match the existing bridge pickup location on my Glarry precision/jazz, I had to trim off (with a razor knife) the sides of all four mounting ears, and then had to use a tool makers file to elongate the mounting holes to make the pu fit. On the upside, this pu produces essentially no hum (although, at installation, I lined the pu pockets and the control pocket with copper foil and connected all of the copper shielded pockets to each other with ground wires.....that may be why the hum was eliminated). There was no foam included to cushion the bottom of the pu, I had to use my own.
