Sky Q Wireless Booster

Very easy to set up and connect. What more could you want. It is also unobtrusive

The wifi in my conservatory was okay at best but in the detached garage it was non existent. AsI have just had solar panels and batteries fitted I needed a good signal in the garage so tried one of the £25 plug in ones , that didn’t make one iota of difference. I bought this Sky box and not only have full signal in the conservatory I also have full signal in the garage so very happy.

I have very thick walls in my house and completely loose my wifi signal when I move about 5 metres away from my sky router. I bought this to use the power line network to wifi option as this would all me to locate the extender anywhere in my house (even where there is no wifi signal). This picks up the router signal in the power lines and chucks it out as a wifi signal. Works very well as I now have full signal around my house. It has crashed 3 times in about 5 weeks needing a re-boot, that is all. You should note that the power line to wifi is only compatible with the Sky Q router

It's works a treat. Although you have to know you cannot put it in the place you have zero wifi reception. You have to put it in a place that has reasonable Wifi reception as it won't connect. It took several attempts to connect and work but once it did it has stayed connected ever since. My daughters room was a black spot and keeps dropping connection from her skyq mini box all the time to the main skyq box as we have thick walls so I put this in the hall outside her room. And now she has no problems at all she is thrilled as she was always using her data on her phone and didn't realise she was using data on her phone until her bill came. Now she is thrilled and can watch sky in her room giving us peace :-)Really easy to set it up. Press wps button on booster box.. Then press it on the main Sky Q box. It will then connect. Mine the first time connected, then started flashing Amber on the power button then turned red (power button) then restarted. My thought on this was that it was performing an update. As after this it was fine. I say this in case anyone starts to worry if this happens to them.Just make sure you dont put it completely in a black spot as it will not connect. My main box is downstairs (thick walls) I put booster in upstairs hall where you have wifi (2 to 3 bars out of 5 bars on wifi meter on my tablet).

This product works well but had a lot of trouble trying to sync it the my sky q router. Took me 2 days in fact ! I initially located it about 30 feet away where the WiFi signal was weak but ok and just would not sync in using WPS method. Put it right next to router, on top of router. underneath router, next to router, connected together via ethernet cable - still no sync up. Then put it about 20 feet away and hey presto it synced up, no idea why ??So if at first it does no sync just keep trying at various distances and locations. I am now reluctant to turn the booster off in case it does not sync up ! I purchased the booster to give me a RJ45 ethernet connection next to the TV which is a distance from the router, running cables in a large 2 storey house was not logistically possible. Its a good cost effective solution.

The product is useless. It fails to pick up the signal from the router when less than 5 metres away. It was purchased to improve the broadband signal in the house and was a complete waste of money. In addition as stipulated on the box it cannot be returned once opened though how you are supposed to establish whether it works as expected without removing the packaging and trying it out is beyond me.

Wish I’d bought one 2 years ago , easyTo set up , plug it in, press a few buttons ,, sorted !!

Took 2 minutes to set up and now we have a strong Wi-Fi signal all the way down to the end of the garden. Can’t recommend this enough, it’s so easy to get working. All you have to do is push two buttons and it’s done.
