Luxury timepiece from Roamer
This Roamer women's watch is a beautiful timepiece; the mother of pearl dial and crystal decorative boarder add a touch of class that is sophisticated and understated enough to make this perfect both for big occasions and more casual outings. The two tone metal again adds versatility meaning it can match just about any wardrobe choice! Some of the photographs provided don't really do the colour of the watch justice so I've added one of my own; the rose gold really has a lovely warm tone. The watch face provides markers only at every quarter, this helps show off the beautiful mother of pearl but does mean it isn't always so easy to give precise time readings, however for every-day or occasion wear it is more than adequate. The watch is comfortable to wear and simple to set with the single adjustment button on the side. The catch at the back of the strap is also very secure but simple to clip into place.Well presented and suitably protected in its case, the watch comes with a five year guarantee. So far, I've found the watch to be durable and to run as perfectly as you would expect from a quality swiss-made product.Overall, this is a stylish, versatile, luxury timepiece that would make a perfect gift or treat for yourself!

Unusual decorative watch
Quality watch from Roamer - a well established Swiss watch brand (established 1888). It comes in a huge brown box with the watch fastened around a brown leatherette pillow. The photos on here showing the watch - on my browser at least - are not quite the right colour for how it looks in real life. In the first photo the face looks blue and in the second photo the face looks plain but my watch has a very pale blue mother of pearl hue - which changes slightly in it's pearlescence depending on the light. perhaps other watches are more white faced as I expect being a natural material the hues and tones vary so that each watch is unique. In the first photo the "rose gold" part looks very pink and in other photos it looks true gold. As before, somewhere in the middle is about the right colour. The rose gold on my watch has a slight pinky hue but not as deep as the first photo and is not brass gold like the second photo. The watch is decorated with tiny crystals all the way along the two long sides of it's rectangular face and at night under light bulbs these catch the light creating diamond like sparkles. It is quite a "blingy" watch - I am quite an understated person and would slightly have preferred a white pearl face and/or one colour wristband. The watch itself has quite basic features - only quarter hours are marked, there are no date or minute functions. It is possible to tell the time but I would say this watch is more a piece of decorative jewellery. The price seems very expensive for a stainless steel watch but I guess you are paying for the brand and it's reputed reliability. There is a five year guarantee. The big rectangular watch part covers all along the front of my wrist. The strap is slightly too large for my wrist and hangs loose and so the watch shifts on it's side a bit, so I am having a few links taken out to make it fit snugly. (This is standard practice for me with watches - my wrist circumference is around 16cm). It is a nice watch, comfortable to wear. I am a big fan of stainless steel wristbands as I have sensitive skin and have had eczema problems in the past with plastic (Swatch), gold, leather and fabric straps causing irritation. I have had no problems since switching to steel about 15 years ago with a Citizen Eco drive watch (which is still going). This watch makes a nice change to wear to dinner parties and evening events.

Lovely looking as an object, slightly impractical as a timepiece.
This is, to my mind, probably designed as more of a dress watch than one to be worn everyday casually. Firstly, it's not exactly cheap and, secondly, while it looks very pretty on the wrist, it is maybe not the most practical of time tellers. The face is very long and narrow and the pearl inlay is not nearly as blue as the photo on here might suggest (but still looks very fetching). It is this narrowness that lends a little to its shortcomings as a practical timepiece, the reason being that there are only the four quarter hour markers and the hands are very short which means you need a slightly longer look at it to get an accurate reading of the time.Personally I have never been a fan of this sort of "minimalist" display, so this may just be a matter of personal taste. The bracelet is very nicely designed, it clicks together logically and then unpops with a simple button press. It also pulls off the great trick of looking elegant but feeling very sturdy. I think this is true of the watch as a whole; it looks quite dainty, but has been brilliantly and robustly designed. It comes in an inexplicably huge presentation box which also contains a warranty and instructions on how to send it to a specialist if the bracelet needs adjusting (it's set rather large by default, so this could be a likelihood).Overall then, a lovely looking piece of jewellery for showing off but, to my mind at least, not a particularly practical everyday timekeeping device!
