WOW ... this is finally a hand held sharpener that works, now before i start, this wont make your knife like a razor, BUT it will make it extremely sharp, if you want a razor sharp knife for sushi work etc then please purchase Waterstones.If your a home cook with decent knives then you are in for a treat with this.we purchased some Henckles Motion knifes and they needed a quick touch up after some weeks, so i purchased a knife sharpener made by Sabatier and it was good but i still felt i was missing something, BUT i didnt want to learn the waterstones, so my wife went searching and found this, and we came to the idea that henckles make great knives so they must make a good sharpener, well they dont .... they make a amazing sharpener.it took our henckles knvies to a amazing edge, and really got them cutting like new,very very well built, and very nice cosmetically.well worth a buy, and i feel it will last a lifetimethis sharpener will NOT sharpen Japanese knives so please be warnedhope this helps anyone looking for a good honest review

What a simple & quality device to use & keep all your Knives as sharp as when they were new .... so easy to use - might even be foolproof - excellent & would be without it.

I have recently purchased a set if henkels professional s knives and though it would be nice to have a sharpener incase . I was looking forward to also sharpen my old knives . The sharpener itself is ok but the plastic sticker pads came off as I was trying it . That's a real shame , they obviously haven't tried it themselves . I guess I could have removed the old stickers , buy a long rubber , cut it and glue it under . But this is never going to stick on plain stainless steel ! I do not recommend this product . You can find many other on Amazon that are similar price and with better quality finish .

Excellent in nearly all aspects, however I only gave it a 4 for ease of use just due to the narrow slots. From a design perspective I would have liked to see the slots flared and slightly wider at the top to help guide the blade in more easily. Otherwise very pleased with it.

A little bit disappointed, it's not cheap. I have a set of Zwiing knives, that's why I bought it. On the instruction, it says, only need to do a few times part one and then another few times part two, your knife should be sharp again! But, I spent at least 5 minutes try to sharp my knife, it's still not!!!! Not recommend, I'm sure there are plenty cheaper ones!

It's scary how sharp this device makes knives with so little effort - it brought all of my knives (mainly Henckels) back to being at least as sharp if not sharper than when originally purchased.Seems to work slightly better with heavier bladed knives that say a Santoku. 100% recommended but just be careful with your fingers when trying out the finished results!!!

So, I am fed up with really bad over priced knife sharpeners. I have had a few in my time and I got them on the word of the manufacturer's own reviews. This one is, well, okay I suppose. It is solid and easy to use. I got it today, opened the box and read and followed the instructions and could not, for the life of me, figure out why my blunt knives were not getting sharper. Then, after close examination of the grinder wheels/discs, I found that they were in reverse - disc one was where disc two was supposed to be and the opposite for disc two. I am not going to send it back, but this is supposed to be a quality manufacturer, or at least a company that allows quality to be produced under licence.This product could be improved by having 3 sharpening instead of 2...AND...use water. Do not sharpen you knives when they are dry.

Works like a champ! Very easy to use and no messy or smelly and oily whetstones to worry about!
