What does w.flex mean?looking for some logic switches to replace switch for washing machine,air extractor and central heating control unit.

w.flex indicates that the connection unit comes with a flex outlet, in the case of the K370 WHI it's located at the bottom left of the unit and has a blanking plug fitted which is removed as and when the outlet is required.

Does it come with the back (fitting) box to screw on to?

No, a 1-gang box needs to be bought separately since this depends on the type of wall in which it is installed.

We currently have a shower switch just outside the shower room door but it has a big ugly red button. Could this be used instead?

This cut is rated for 13A. Showering are rated around 45-50 Amps. The fuse would just keep blowing. Product intended for item's that need to be wired in and not using a plug ie. Wall mounted room heater.

Is the red in the switch illuminated ?

Yes, illuminated, I’m sure, Though in our last house now, so can’t just check to be perfectly sure. I remember a red plastic insert on the switch, which lit up when in use.
