Endless Bicarb Uses for Unbeatabe value!
I get through a lot of bicarbonate soda (as well as cooking I use it in homemade cleaning solutions, laundry and for homemade facial scrubs) so save a fortune by buying this huge 5kg tub instead of the little pots from the supermarket. It comes in a huge round tub with a decent secure lid which comes on and off easily but keeps it secure and airtight in between. The tub is pretty big though, so I just fill a smaller pot for regular use so this can be stored more out of the way and used for refills.I mix some of this with just water or a gentle facewash into a paste for an amazing home exfoliator/face scrub that is gentle but deep cleansing (bicarbonate is one of the finest/safest grains for this so it won't irritate or damage your skin but will work wonders on rejuvenating it and removing dead skin cells). You can then apply an apple cider vinegar and water toner afterwards (start with a mix of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water and over a few weeks work towards 1 part vinegar to 1 part water) and your skin will look amazing within a week or two - super smooth with a very healthy glow. This is gentle enough to work as a daily exfoliator for really good results. Bicarb also works great as a natural dry shampoo!Mix some with white vinegar to make a very good, cheap, chemical free cleaning scrub for the bathroom and kitchen - this works brilliantly as it cuts though grease very easily due to being abrasive, polishes extremely well and also deodorises - try leaving the mix on for 5-10 minutes before scrubbing for stubborn areas. 3 or 4 parts bicarb and one part water or cleaning fluid works very well. This also works really well for mold and mildew, especially on tiles/grout in the bathroom. You can use this mix to gently polish brass too and it comes up looking great with no tarnishing (and try replacing the vinegar with water to do the same with your silver).I use it to absorb spillages on carpets too which works very well and then also use it as a carpet deodoriser - just shake it all around the carpet and leave it in-between hovering. Mix it with some washing up liquid and white vinegar for old or dried carpet stains and scrub gently with a non-coloured/non-dyed scrubber and it works wonders (especially for mucky footprints or pet stains). If the stains are really stubborn just leave it over night after scrubbing to really soak before washing it out.Mix some in with your laundry detergent (about half a cup or so) for extra cleansing and super soft and fresh feeling laundry :) You can also run a cycle on your washing machine and dishwasher with just bicarb in them to give them a really good chemical-free deep cleanse and keep everything inside fresh and clean. And I use it for cooking, obviously! As well as the many standard uses in cooking I recently started adding it to omelettes when making them and it really beefs them out and also makes them nice and fluffy. You can mix a teaspoon or so of this with water and drink to soothe heartburn too if you're ever caught short without anything else to take care of it (or just prefer this natural remedy to solutions from the pharmacist).Even with al that this tub still lasts for ages and is relay incredible value.

Wonder item every home should have in stock
Bought this 2 years ago and just getting to the bottom of it now & I most certainly will be ordering more.It really is a fabulous ingredient for pretty much everything around the house.I’ve used it to get dog & cat smells out of carpets instead of using harmful chemicals, as we also have marine fish, so I like to use natural products around the house where possible so as not to harm them. This bicarb is ideal for using as a deodoriser on fabrics which are harder to wash, such as mattresses, and settees, using on carpets etc.I make up a spray bottle with bicarb, water & some essential oils to spritz around the house to refresh curtains, fabrics etc. It’s great to soak up spillages as well as using as even a dry shampoo for the dog.Give the kitchen a spray and scrub with this to get rid of grease and other daily spills or Male it into a paste and use a cloth/sponge for some scrubbing power.I’ve used it to clean the oven, Phillips air fryer, sinks, bath, carpets, pets, bedding, curtains, car, motorbike, washing, gym bags, trainers, body & face wash, shampoo, toothpaste etc - and that’s not including the cooking uses.I can’t get over how good this is for everything. Putting some towels or bedding in the wash that have lost their whiteness or developed that musty smell that even a boil wash can’t quite shift - throw a cup of this in the drum along with the regular powder etc and out come fresh, clean fabrics which smell delightful.Stick a small bowl in the fridge (or freezer) to remove smells. You can even put some in a sock or tights and put that in the wardrobe, drawers, cupboards, rooms or car for the same odour removing benefits.Sprinkled onto a carpet and left overnight helps to remove odours from pets, smoke or spillages when hoovered up the next day (remember to empty the hoover filters and give them a rinse/empty to prevent clogging) - double bonus is it helps to remove smells from the Hoover too!Fabulous product that everyone should have around the house. If you don’t like using chemicals or are sensitive to using certain cleaning products, this is a great alternative that’s just as effective, without the harmful side effects. At this price for a no frills tub which does the same as the brand names without breaking the bank, it’s worth investing in this.

I’m happy with my purchase
Item came well packaged. I have been using it around my home to do some basic cleaning. I use it on my kitchen sink to make it shine like new. I also use it on my stainless steel pots to make them shine. I use it to clean my oven. I also put some in my laundry, it prevents my washing machine from developing any odours. This baking soda is also food grade and I use it for baking as well. You get a lot for the cost. Cheaper than buying it in stores. It is going to last me a very long time.

Broken tub. Not much response from Amazon or the company to response. Not happy !
The tub was broken on arrival. Bicarbonate of soda in the box & leaking out. I’ve reported it to Amazon & Hexeal but not heard anything for days. I’ve asked for either a replacement or a refund. Not happy.Ok! Take it all back. I’ve just received a replacement tub. Thank you Amazon. Thank you Hexeal 👍
