Hammerite 5092820 Kurust, 250 ml, Blue

This product is amazing. It converts rust into a solid, paintable surface in minutes. Very easy to apply with a small brush and a little goes a long way. Saved me a lot of time on car body repairs. Highly recommended for any DIY enthusiast!

I've been using this since 1987 and this is the best stuff you can buy to stop rust on a car. When you open the lid it looks like white milk and smells like sour milk but it dries clear/almost transparent black color so is perfect for all types of rust on all types of paint. When you apply it to brown rust it will look like white milk but after its dried it will look black, any over spill on to paint will look almost transparent black color. In normal warm dry weather it can take around 15 - 20 mins to go hard but in colder/damp weather it can take longer. Once dry you can fill the panel's rust holes with body filler and paint it. It can be applied to all rusty services and when dry will strengthen the rusted area it a bit. It can be applied to dry and damp surfaces and works perfectly but on damp services it will take longer to go hard. In warm, hot weather this will dry faster than in cold damp weather. In general its best to apply 2-3 coats, so you put one coat on let dry and put the other coat on after that, that will give the best protection. Its non toxic so if you get any on your fingers you'll be ok. When you've finished using it, you can wash the brush in water and the brush will be clean. Although I've used this to save my car's rusted panels, it can be used on anything rusty. Each bottle of this paint is as good as the last one, so you can rely on it to kill rust. I feel its the best anti rust paint you can buy because once you've painted the rust then 9 times out of 10 the rust will never come back. If it does come back as a new rust bubble then you just paint more of this stuff over it and it will fix the rust. I highly recommend it.

I bought the 500ml version of this product. My plan was to use it on metal garden chairs that I've had for nearly 14 years, chairs that are now beginning to show signs of rust. The chairs were expensive in the first place, and were made from a chunky wire-mesh grille material that had been powder coated and supposed to be weatherproof forever. However, in Scotland, nothing is weatherproof for ever, and these chairs had slowly developed a brown discoloration that was a clear sign of rust getting under the powder coating. I painted them last year with standard Hammerite paint, but the discolouration has returned again this year. With the benefit of hindsight, I should have used this Hammerite Kurust first. However... This Kurust paint is pale blue in colour, but deepens to a dark blue once it has converted any rust (iron oxide) back into iron. It's quite a thin paint, so it's very easy to apply, and covers really well. It dries quickly, but I left it overnight before recoating it, and then left it a further 24 hours before I gave the chairs a final coat of standard Hammerite paint. Now that I've done all the work, the chairs seem fine - in fact they look better now than they did whey they were new! Time will tell if the Kurust really has cured the rust problem, but for now at least, I can honestly say that the paint appears to have done its job quickly, easily and without any real fuss. This bottle (500ml capacity) has let me cover two chairs twice over, so it's actually quite economical. There's a tiny amount left in the bottle, so I'll hold onto it and see if it keeps until next year when I might try it on other metal objects that have also started to show signs of rust. By the way, I was initially very confused when I was searching Amazon for Kurust - there was a massive difference in price - I paid around £10 for this bottle, but I saw the exact same item on sale from other vendors for more than double this. I initially thought there was something inferior about this particular item from this particular vendor, but if you take the time to delve deeper, you'll find it's the same; don't necessarily assume that you get what you pay for. As long as it's Hammerite and called Kurust, I would personally buy from the cheapest vendor on Amazon that you can. Overall, this is a great buy. I hope you've found this brief review useful.

Works well and a little goes a long way .I fing it spreads well with a fine brush .Dont forget to shake well . 2 coats is best.

Good stuff, it goes a long way. Only buy what you need. For example, rusty car boot I only used 5% of it.

v easy to use with fabulous results but make sure you wear rubber gloves or you will stain your hands !! had some old metal pheasants (garden ornaments ) and had rust all over the metal feathers, but once treated back to their faded glory with colours still there. I will now use clear spray to further protect them. so happy as thought they were for the skip .

Traiter la rouille est un problème récurrent. En général je mets une peinture antirouille directement dessus mais cela change son aspect global. Je voulais un produit qui fasse un peu ancien mais qui protège toujours de la rouille, en particulier pour mon outillage à main. Donc j'en ai profité pour prendre ce petit pot et voir ce que cela donne. J'ai fait quelques essais directement sur un ancien support de vasque déjà bien attaqué. ✅ Le pot est bien fermé avec un système de sécurité en plastique à ouvrir une première fois. Il faut bien le secouer je vous avouerai que j'étais un peu surpris de l'aspect. On a l'impression de voir du lait. ✅ C'est très liquide, cela fait un petit peu des bulles et donc coule très vite. Ce n'est pas du tout pâteux comme de la peinture. 🚧 L'application est donc un petit peu délicate. C'est assez compliqué de recouvrir un bas de caisse car vous allez forcément en perdre pas mal sur le sol. Il doit être possible de le mettre facilement dans un pistolet à peinture et sans doute mieux adapté si vous êtes sous la pièce à protéger de la rouille. ✅ Il est donc blanc, mais, dès l'application, vous allez voir un changement de couleur du produit qui va passer doucement d'un espèce de bleuté à du noir quelques heures plus tard. 🚧 Le nettoyage du pinceau n'est pas indiqué sur la boîte mais je l'ai simplement mis sous du produit dégraissant ce qui à parfaitement fonctionné. Je n'ai rien gratté pour voir ce que cela donnait car c'est indiqué qu'il peut être appliqué directement sur la rouille. Normalement il faut ensuite le peindre. ✅ Il est très liquide avec un pot de 250 ml vous pouvez recouvrir quand même énormément de surface. 🚧 Je vous invite à bien le refermer après utilisation, ces produits n'ont pas une très grande durée de vie donc l'acheter en petite quantité est une bonne idée si vous n'avez pas un projet qui correspond à repeindre 25 mètres carrés. Je connaissais déjà cette marque pour d'autres produits antirouille et c'est pour cela que j'ai préféré partir sur ce produit. 🎁 Je vous ai mis des photos tout au long du travail de stop rouille pour que vous puissiez juger de l'aspect final. Il passe donc du blanc au bleu pour finir noir. ✅ J'en ai peint qu'une moitié pour comparer. Je n'ai pas brossé la surface au préalable. 🏆 Sur la partie non traitée, en passant un doigt, il est plein de poussière de rouille. Sur la partie traitée, on dirait comme un verni mat. Le doigt ne récolte aucune poussière. 🚧 En conclusion, la seule remarque négative est l'absence de directions sur le nettoyage du produit et que tout soit en anglais pour le reste. 🏆 Mais sinon, c'est 100% positif. Ich reinige die rostigen Stellen mit einem Drahtaufsatz , streich sie mit Hammerit danach Grundierung, GFK Spachtel , Lack und Klarlack . Keine 6 Monate später kommt der Rost wieder durch . Gefühlt noch schneller als ohne mit Rostumwandler behandelte Stellen

Eccezionale convertitore di ruggine (io avevo provato il fertan tempo fa ma questo è meglio). Una volta dato a pennello si asciuga in un'ora circa e diventa bluastro. Non intingere il pennello nel baratto per non contaminare il prodotto ma versare in un barattolo diverso quello si vuole dare e gettare via se avanza. Non lascia spessori e su può verniciare sopra facilmente. Leggermente caro vista la quantità del prodotto, ma vale i soldi spesi. Consigliato.

This little bottle treated sooooo much rust on my van conversion. And I’m pleased with the results!
