Will save your old car's rusty panels.
I've been using this since 1987 and this is the best stuff you can buy to stop rust on a car. When you open the lid it looks like white milk and smells like sour milk but it dries clear/almost transparent black color so is perfect for all types of rust on all types of paint. When you apply it to brown rust it will look like white milk but after its dried it will look black, any over spill on to paint will look almost transparent black color. In normal warm dry weather it can take around 15 - 20 mins to go hard but in colder/damp weather it can take longer. Once dry you can fill the panel's rust holes with body filler and paint it. It can be applied to all rusty services and when dry will strengthen the rusted area it a bit. It can be applied to dry and damp surfaces and works perfectly but on damp services it will take longer to go hard. In warm, hot weather this will dry faster than in cold damp weather. In general its best to apply 2-3 coats, so you put one coat on let dry and put the other coat on after that, that will give the best protection. Its non toxic so if you get any on your fingers you'll be ok. When you've finished using it, you can wash the brush in water and the brush will be clean. Although I've used this to save my car's rusted panels, it can be used on anything rusty. Each bottle of this paint is as good as the last one, so you can rely on it to kill rust. I feel its the best anti rust paint you can buy because once you've painted the rust then 9 times out of 10 the rust will never come back. If it does come back as a new rust bubble then you just paint more of this stuff over it and it will fix the rust. I highly recommend it.

Excellent rust killer
Good stuff, it goes a long way. Only buy what you need. For example, rusty car boot I only used 5% of it.

Works Well but expensive
I bought this to repaint a tractor transport box which had been sitting outside neglected for many months. It had become very rusty overall and rust had deeply penetrated scores and scratches. After wire wheeling and scraping I used this product to convert the surface rust before priming. It seems to work very well indeed. The rust turns black and slightly glossy. Applying the product is dead easy - it is very thin and has a pink colour so you can see where it has already been applied. I used a small brush and it only took minutes. Painting after using Kurust is easy. I used a spray and brush on primer after using Kurust without any problem. Initially, this product looks very expensive (circa £34.00/L) but you are buying in a small quantity and paying for the Hammerite branding. I am very surprised at how far the product goes, I used about 1/4 of the 250ml pack on approximately 16 sq.ft - in fairness I could of used about half the amount I did (slap it on method!). You are meant to apply only to the rust but I literally just slapped it over the entire surface, a bit wasteful. Conclusion. The product does seem to work, it turns red Iron Oxide into blueish Iron Tannate by using Tannic acid and a polymer. I am absolutely certain that there are no 'magic' ingredients in the Hammerite Brand that are not in cheaper alternatives. From what i read products containing Tannic Acid have a short shelf life (about 9 months from purchase) so it is probably best to buy the amount you need when you need it. Recommended? Yes, if you just have a small area to treat. If you have a large area or multiple projects to treat then you can buy 5L pots of rust converter for less than £5 per Litre, this branded small pack works out at about £34 per Litre. The shelve life put me of buying it in quantity - no point in having 4L of expired chemical to dispose of. Hope that helps ;-)

Great stuff
Amazing stuff. I rubbed down the rust to remove any loose parts and applied this directly to it. Then watch the rust disappear into a stable black colour ready for painting few hours later. Liquid is all watery and a little application goes a long way.
