My favourite garden tool
I am so pleased with item. It's now my favourite tool to use in my garden. Dug over and cleared a really large weedy area with ease. Cuts through roots. Work's so much quicker, better & easier than using a fork & spade to dig over soil. Good strong thick handle. So far I have no issue with the quality. Good size & weight. Would recommend.

Well-ballanced versatile garden tool
The hoe is well-balanced, sturdy but not too heavy. It has enough weight for the purpose, I would not like to have a tool of this dimension that is too light and makes me put more back in than necessary. The tool's weight in itself helps to dig, especially with larger areas of dryer/heavier soil.I'm 160cm/70kg, so no Atlas, but I'm doing well enough with this tool. The tool arrived assembled, but I took the handle out to oil it in properly before use - this way it lasts longer and is more convenient to work with.Work in a generous amount of linseed oil in the wood and the work it gently, but thoroughly over with medium-to-fine sand paper. Do this 3-4 times and leave the wood overnight before re-assembling and use.The wood fibres swell with the oil and the sanding seals the surface and leaves it silky smooth after the oil has penetrated properly.Well, if you're less OCD about your tools, you can just use it as it is.The diameter of the handle's bottom end is larger, so no risk of the blade falling out. This was my concern, but now that I've used it I'm happy with the design and the quality. In all, great tool for a good price.

Good digging hoe
Don't know why it's so hard to find a proper digging hoe in the UK, there were none in any of the garden centres or hardware stores I visited, and so decided to give this one a go.The handle is nice and long, and the head is well made with a nice edge for slicing through buried roots.Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the head should be heavier, which would give each swing more force.

Smashed my weeds up
Delighted I bought this tool, was nervous and a bit unsure about whether to go for it or not. My overgrown front garden was out of control, an eye sore and I wanted to dig it it all up & start again. I saw a YT video of someone using a digging hoe & thought it looked quick & easier than digging. I was worried I would mess up and lose a toe but it was as easy as it looks! The weight is well balanced so you are in complete control and it's so satisfying to just either gently chip away at the ground or take a stronger slice to remove roots and overgrowth. Doesn't take that long and if like me you worry your posture may be all wrong, it comes naturally how best to stand after a couple of attempts. The next day I felt it in my arms and shoulders more than my back. Was a good workout but I don't think I'd have reached the end with just a spade plus this was so much more fun just getting tore into it and having that satisfaction at the end when you see your cleared space. It took me a couple of hours to make sure I had gone through all the roots and bulbs, my soil is thick clay littered with stones throughout so wasn't an easy job my side of the fence but the tool carried me through in the end.

Very effective digging and trenching tool
This is a great product for digging into compacted or stony ground and is a great trenching tool. The only things to bear in mind is it is quite heavy so may not be suitable for all users, the blade is quite sharp and is also quite wide (you may need to check it isn't too wide for the job you want to do).I've found this a great tool, for digging in my allotment - easier and quicker than using a spade for digging hard ground. Also great value for the price I paid.

Excellent
A solid hoe that helped me cultivate my new, extremely overgrown allotment (with carpet buried under the grass and weeds, and lots of roots and rocks). Perfect size, too, for someone who's 5'2" and not very strong. Keeping an eye on it in case the metal bit chooses to fly solo, but so far so good.

Really Useful
Great tool well packed. Used many times for digging and trenching as well as clearing weed and turf. Only improvement I made was to soften the very end of the excellent wooden handle (mine was hickory) by rounding over the end with glass paper. My palms and finger came in contact with the square cut end of the handle but rounding it off stopped discomfort while using this excellent tool. Again - I stress the quality for the money is excelent.

Great item
Super value for money. Handle is good quality and the blade super sharp and has helped to make light work of some tough compacted ground. The head did slip a couple of times.. so I may put a little nail or screw in to stop it from happening. Nice weighted item not cheap and flimsy
