Comfortable and sturdy; also bulky.
This is the kind of mat that acquires a range of uses and gets worn out sooner; not a bad thing. It supplies enough support and comfort for backyard and camping naps, and is not too bulky to take to an exercise class. It will last for a while and doesn’t smell bad.

Protects ones bony protuberances from injury!!
This is a thicker than normal Yoga mat which I love because I have a cement floor to exercise on which can present some safety issues. But this mat is thick enough to provide comfort when doing my yoga poses. I have found no negatives. It is sticky enough to stay put on my cement floor, has no chemical (or any other) smells. Do wish it had a little more substantial strap for carrying but other than that I will definitely purchase this mat again. A very good buy!!

Nice and thick yoga mat
This is a nice and thick - as well as wide - yoga mat. Very comfortable and attractive. The only drawback is it is a bit cumbersome rolling it up.

Comfortable and non-slippery
I’m very happy with this yoga mat. I’ve been researching what to buy since my previous mat was thick but became slippery. I realized it was not the TPE material. I ordered this one partly for that reason and also because I’m familiar with the Hatha name. They recommend you leave the mat out for a few days due to the smell. I didn’t do that but I did not feel the smell was a problem.I will say my hands did slip a little about 20 minutes into my practice but not enough to be a problem, I just readjusted a bit. I would recommend this mat.

Good cushion but no QC
The mat is just what I needed for Pilates class and I love the lavender color. At 8mm, it's thick enough to help my bad shoulder but not so thick that you wobble doing side plank exercises. My only issue is that it isn't cut anywhere near straight. In the photo, the strap is parallel to the edge and as you can see, the texture of the mat is on an angle to it rather than perpendicular. It's the same on both sides. I've been using it several times a week for the past 3 weeks and there are no dings or tears so it's not worth sending back, it just bad QC that makes it look cheap. As you can tell by my mat strap, the one they send works but it's rubbish.

Great as a base for thinner yoga mat
I was used to my somewhat squishy and smooth 68" x 24" yoga mat with a 1/4 inch thickness, and it served me well when my floors were carpeted. Then I replaced all that carpeting with hardwood and - oy! - back bones on hardwood is not fun! Now this larger, thicker mat I find to be OK by itself...it certainly saved my bones and I appreciate that extra matting both in length and width...but there's no "give" in the material and it's textured on top, and I'm not sure I like those features. Then I tried placing my smaller mat on top...what a revelation! Comfort, familiarity, more room to move and saved bones all at once. For me, that's the ticket.

Best for the money?
I had a Gaiam yoga mat for almost a year, and it started to pill. I first used it once a day, then began using it twice a day. I realized I needed something at least the same sturdy with more cushioning and a bigger size. I tried the Retrospec Solana because it's advertised as a thick yoga mat. Yes, it's thick, but it was almost impossible to keep my balance on it, and it stretched out a lot. I don't think it's good for yoga at all.Eventually, I found and ordered the Hatha Yoga Thick TPE Yoga Mat. Here’s what I think:Pros:The mat is thick but still allows for good balance. It’s the perfect size — should be the standard for all yoga mats!Nice color.Seems sturdy; I think it can last a long time (like a year) even with twice daily use.The cushioning is just right for me.The price is reasonable. It sticks to the floor.Cons:The color is not as vibrant as advertised, more like pale purple. The smell stayed for a whole week, and there’s still a faint smell left. The surface is a bit slippery, and my hands slowly slide away when I’m in a downward-facing dog. It's a bit thinner than advertised. It is stretching a little bit with my weight (70 kg) and might stretch even more if you are heavier.I was looking for so long for a good mat. It seems like there are tons of them available, but it is still hard to find a good one. My conclusion is that for now, I found the best possible.

Inferior packaging
The manufacturer puts their product in cardboard boxes with gaping handholds in the side, so the box is guaranteed to collapse during storage, leaving permanent creases in the mat. They print the information sheet advertising their product on heavy gauge virgin plastic, which really got my blood boiling.
