Good reading - Key lesson: focus on your customers
Mr. Drucker reminds us the many causes of a business can fail and the few in which their success hinges.Reading this book one realizes how many of the frameworks used by management consulting firms nowadays are rooted in time-tested management practices succinctly explained by Mr. Drucker in this book.A few of my favorite quotes from the book are:- "Knowledge is a perishable commodity. It has to be reaffirmed, relearned, repracticed all the time. One has to work constantly at regaining one's specific excellence. "- "Abandonment is the key to innovation—both because it frees the necessary resources and because it stimulates the search for the new that will replace the old...One should abandon yesterday's breadwinners before one really wants to, let alone before one has to."- "The purpose of the work on making the future is not to decide what should be done tomorrow, but what should be done today to have a tomorrow."

Business management fundamentals clearly explained by the best business mind of the last 100 years.
The onwner of the company my sone works for promoted him to General Manager. I gave him Druker's Managing for Results. He's now quoting it to his staff. I've owned and run two companies. I still consider it the most foundational business book I've read because it cuts to the most essential concepts and questions in clear and precise prose.

Powerful insights for understanding what is driving your business.
Very straight honest talking from one of the best thinkers on business about the hardest part of getting your business right. I found in particular his discussion of cost cutting and the difference between effective and ineffective products and people to be useful. It can be tough to look honestly and clearly at your own business and Drucker's book forces you to do that.

Refreshingly direct
What a great precis on strategy by Drucker. Most refreshing is the direct way in which he dissects the topic... the world could take a chapter (or 10) from Drucker.

Very helpful
Really nice book. Brings you back to the basics of management through time tested principles. I will conclude by saying that these basic principles are like common sense, but common sense is never common.

The father of management on results oriented approach
One of my favourite Drucker's writings together with "The efficient executive". In these turbulent times executives that are result oriented are called to sail the boat. A set of advices to properly change our vision.

A classic that will be allways relevant
Despite being a classic, still very helpful in today's business context. As managing for results/ objectives is as hot as ever, Drucker's view is very relevant. Great minds are timeless...
