Microwave Bacon Crisper

I got this more out of curiosity than anything else. I eat bacon 3-4 times a week and usually cook it in a cast iron pan, which tastes great, but you have to leave the pan to cool before cleaning it, and if I'm late, I have to leave it on the hob and face wrath of my girl when I get home for not washing up.Anyway, for a fiver for 2 (with P&P), which is half the price of another one on Amazon, I thought I'd give it a go. It is quite simply amazing. Stick 4-5 rashers on it, drop a couple of sheets of kitchen roll on top (bacon spits), pop it in he microwave for 2 minutes, and perfectly cooked bacon comes out. If you like it extra crispy, try an extra 30 seconds.The thing that surprised me most was that the bacon actually looks cooked...I expected it to look the same as when it went in (just hot), but you can't tell the difference by looking at it. Or indeed, by the taste of it. The fastest way to perfectly cooked bacon.Get one (or two).

when a friend told me about this i did not believe it could cook bacon. However it does, and weirdly does not make your microwave greasy. when it costs so much to use ovens now, this is an ideal way of cooking bacon. i still don't think it ends up quite as nice as grilled bacon-but absolutely fine-much quicker, cleaner etc.however the tray itself bent a little after one use-it still works o.k. but it could make the grease run off the bacon tray. I am not sure how it would cope with a hot wash on a dish washer.it has quite deep ridges though. it is very easy to clean-just bung it in to a sink of hot water-it is no more difficult than a plate.

I bought this a few years ago having seen a friend use one. I'm a terribly lazy and impatient cook so this was great!If you over do it, they are dry, but that's my cooking skills (I'm a 20 mins, 180° oven kinda gal!). My husband doesn't like me using it - he likes proper grilled bacon - so I zap it sneakily in the microwave on this, then finish it under the grill. Hey presto!Just to add, I rarely do the cooking in the house for the above apathetic reasons!

This was absolutely no use at all. It buckled in the microwave and was only on for 3 minutes. It was really soft plastic and I should have known better than put it in the microwave with bacon. I got a full refund but this item should not say a bacon crisper/ microwave.

Bacon crisper appeared slightly warped and material was thinner and lighter than previous bacon crispers I have bought in the past.

Keeps the fat away, works well in microwave, replacement for another one that had got brittle.

This product does cook bacon but even after sticking to the instructions it buckled badley, its almost impossible to wash, the grease get in between the tracks, its a waste of money.

Very easy for cooking bacon well. I melted the first one when I put it on too high a setting, as the instructions were not clear. When I contacted the company, I was sent a replacement. I then experimented with time and power settings. I have an Electrolux built in oven which is also a microwave. For perfect crispy bacon I recommend 2mins30sec @ 800w. Cover the bacon with a piece of kitchen towel when cooking to avoid spitting fat. It's not easy to wipe clean due to it's griddles construction, but just pop it in the dishwater. So much easier than cleaning out the grill pan and so much quicker.

Es completamente inadecuado para cocinar bacon, se funde por el calor residual. Lo tiré a la basura después del primer uso.
