The media could not be loaded. Perfect kit for beginners or someone who has trouble keeping plants alive. My 2 and 4 year old are obsessed (we had a couple of casualties from them poking the seedlings as they were popping up from the soil), and it’s a great learning experience for them. I love that each plant gets its own little pot and identifier label that you can write yourself. Lavender never sprouted even after 3 separate attempts to germinate following the directions from the kit and also googling for help. We are using some of the spare pots from the plants that didn’t sprout that we know we won’t really use as starter pots for bell peppers. Tool kit that came with it is perfect for the little pots and also for little hands. Directions and information booklet are great! Also love that it comes with spare seeds. Extremely happy with this purchase and will buy again as gifts.

The kit is a great idea, comes with everything you need to grow so as far as the overall it’s a great set up however I must have gotten bad seeds. I followed the directions exactly how they were laid out in the instructions that came in the box, not a single seed grew. I did a ton of research online for growing herbs and nothing would make these specific seeds sprout. (I was able to get seeds I purchased elsewhere to work) I decided to try again in the early spring and the only seeds I was able to get to sprout from this kit were the Basil and Cilantro seeds after I started using my own soil not the discs provided. Overall kind of disappointed with this kit, would not buy it again.

I love that this set makes it so easy to get started with an indoor herb garden. It has everything you need in the box! And the included book is super helpful with easy to follow instruction. I couldn’t believe how quickly I saw seedlings. 4 varieties starting sprouting in just 4 days. The others all sprouted in the following couple weeks. The modern style looks great too. I love the moisture meter, sprayer, planting tools and the mini clippers. This kit has it all. Top quality kit, excellent customer service and a company that stands behind their products. I've successfully grown herbs before, and this set seemed like a great way to buy a simple herb kit for my kitchen window.Here are its problems:1) Most of the provided seeds didn't germinate. Seeds I bought separately grew well. (I followed their directions in both cases.) Their seed packaging was excellent, easily the most protective I've ever seen of seeds I've bought. I don't know why their seeds were so bad. I saw a ~25% germination rate, which meant that some herbs grew nothing. I planted more seeds, still nothing. I bought other seeds from another source, and I got herbs.2) The provided soil doesn't work well for plants. It's a dried-pill style of easily shipped soil that you hydrate and put into these pots. The soil doesn't hold much water, so it doesn't help the seeds germinate very well. This could be part of the problem with the seed germination. I replaced this soil with potting soil to get healthy plants.3) If your plants are healthy and growing (how you would want if you're using these herbs), these pots are far too small. I repotted my plants into pots with about triple the volume that still fit well on my windowsill.Altogether, I paid less to replace the parts in this kit with separately purchased components, and my new components are far more capable and successful.If you give this kit as a gift, you're likely setting the recipient for frustration and failure. If you secretly hate them, then this is an ideal gift.I've kept the pots and will likely use them for starting plants that will be transplanted outside in spring.
