GTA has been dispatched and I have paid £44, however it is now priced at £40 and is still available for pre-order.. why am I still having to pay £44?

You will get the £4 refunded to your account, I'm in the same boat. Same happened after I bought FM15 and the price went down they added the £2 odd back . Just make sure you have your payment details linked so it can be refunded.
