6-years in & still excellent 👌🏼
I bought this Fluval E300 aquarium heater for my 4ft turtle tank. 6-years down the line & I'm still impressed. Came with a UK-plug. Mounted at 45° as suggested & made sure to always keep fully submerged. Never an issue with it. The built in housing makes it safe for my turtle to clamber over too & doesn’t need fully dismantling to clean like my previous guarded ones did. Excellent value & accurate enough 🙂

Fluval Heater does not meet expectations
In my view the heater is over engineered (Red/Blue/Green Display/Flashing Displays/ Low Flow Warnings etc..On the face of it these features would appear to be good ideas, however from the user's perspective, my experience was that for several hours it worked appropriately, however for no apparent reason I then started getting a "Low Flow" warning. I moved an artificial plant away from the heater and this worked for a while before the "LF" warning returned. Based on other negative reviews I tilted the heater to a 45 degree angle with negative result and on returning it to the vertical position the "LF" symbol disappeared. The next morning despite the heater being set at a temperature of25 degrees, I found the heater was showing only 24 degrees and the display was blue in colour. An independent thermometer showed a reading of only 23.4 degrees and no matter what I did with the Fluval Heater in terms of angle/position/Increasing temperature etc., the display remained blue and the temperature never increased. Suffice to say, the well being of my stock took priority and I returned the heater to Amazon 24 hours later. I have now reviewed various websites and it is apparent that numerous people have had similar experiences with this product and this is clearly an issue Fluval requires to address, particularly given the fact that this heater is at the upper end of the price spectrum and that Fish Keepers cannot afford to gamble with their stock.

Great aquarium heater
I was having problems keeping my new tropical aquarium temperature stable, even though I was using the correct sized heater for my tank. So I did some research into my fluctuating heat problem. I found on the internet that my problem might be caused, by my house being too cold, due to me living in the countryside. It recommended that I used the next sized heater up from mine or to use 2 heaters to stabilize the temperature. Being that my heater I had was a 200 wat I decided to go for a 300 watt heater. My next problem was, which make to go for.. For this again I turned to the internet, on the reviews done on the different makes. I was guided towards the "Fluval E300" by being one of the top recommended by the review web sites. From there I went on the Amazon web site. I checked the customer reviews. They were very mixed, in their opinions. So I was unsure but noticed there was a couple of reviews that stated that if you followed what they had done, all was well & that would rectify those problems the other reviewers were having, while using this item. So it was at this point I ordered it, even though it was quite expensive compared to some others at Amazon. It arrived the next day via Amazon Prime Delivery. I eagerly unpacked it and swapped it over. I followed what some of the other reviewers had stated to do, just so I could get the best out of this heater. 1st; I placed it at a 45° angle in the aquarium, as per the other reviewers advice. 2nd; I made sure it had a good water flow over it 3rd; adjusted the temperature to what I required. Then left it alone to hopefully sort out my heating issues. The next day I went straight to the aquarium, to check the temperature of it, against my other thermostat placed on the opposite side of the aquarium to the heater, I was very skeptical at this point. Well low & behold it was within 0.4°c difference. Since having this "Fluval E300" heater I have checked the temperature on numerous occasions and the temperature hasn't changed, even during the night, when it is at it's lowest room temperature. I would definitely recommend these "Fluval E series" heaters but just be guided by the above advice and other helpful reviews please, and it will be a great product for you, just as it is for me 5++ highly recommended item time has moved on now and at least 6month & still the heater is perfect keeping good temperature

useful
very nice heater which has an integrated guard to protect the fish and temperature display. when i first started using this i was also waiting for a replacement circulation pump to arrive and it was warning me of low flow (making the heater less effective) which disappeared as soon as I installed the pump. since then it has worked perfectly. however there is one disadvantage which I realised in the recent long spell of hot weather - I have to maintain a second liquid based thermometer because I want to turn this device off in summer - the ambient temperature is high enough to keep the water up over 25C so it seems a waste of electricity to keep it running just to monitor the temperature in the tank.

great product.
These may be more expensive then other aquarium heaters buy they are excelent. providing you give these heaters/thermostates a couple of hours to settle once you adjust the tempeture control they work perfect. hopefully these will last a number of years.

Quality product
Purchased two of these years ago for a 500 litre tank. Buying new ones as they are very old now and I trust the brand but don't want to risk a power failure. Some people complain about it needing high flow, to be able to heat a 375 litre tank with 300 watts for example, DOES require good flow rate around the tank. Generally you want 1w per litre to be safe and keep a constant temp, more if your house is very cold. I find also if you have poor insulation on your house, or thin glass on our aquarium you will lose heat very quickly, this is why I run two 300w in my 500 litre, one as a backup set about 0.5c cooler than the other that kicks in if the other doesn't. I put one near my intake slightly at an angle and low to the bottom of the tank, the other goes on the other side of the tank underneath the spray bar, i positioned a small power head fan near the heater also to ensure my tank has good flow and good circulation meaning my heaters need to be on less. Also by having the two heaters either side it ensures a more even temperature in the tank. IN the 3+ years I have had these heaters they haven't failure, fried my fish. I also love the protective plastic around it, making sure any fish do not get stuck and burnt.

My odour it not with the heater it’s with the description
It said used mint but it had been in someone else’s tank for a while as lead was dirty algea build up on lead at top of heater plus some lime scale marks on filter this item was not in mint condition as mint means opened and returned normally not used for some time I expected better condition tbh but it works that’s the main thing just hope it lives up to the 5 year guarantee fluval offer hopefully it will endure like many of these heaters do way past the guaranteed life expectancy I’ve all ways used fluval kit as you can’t go wrong with it my tank is a fluval shaker 252 my filter the fluval 307 and fluval programmable light system my only issue is it does look like mint condition as specified it’s definitely been used for some time mint also means damaged packaging they can’t sell it as new if packaging is damaged but this had been used for some time by the look of it but no issues it’s working and test fingers crossed it lasts the distance like some of these heaters go on for up to 10 years they are worth the money but you must have a good flow point or it will error luckily my fluval 307 is a powerful filter with a strong flow probably why it was returned and resold by Amazon some bought it but didn’t have a good enough flow pushing water past the heater but it’s not the heater I’ve given 3 stars on it’s the description only the heater works fine and being fluval it’s still worth every penny and now my water will remain at a constant temperature of 26 c with American cichlids usually temperature for them is between 24 c too 28 c so smack bang in the middle to be sure but I’d definitely get another one of these as they just let on going plus they are fish proof accurate bit bulky for some but matches my Down pipe and up flow pips in my tank as they come up through the bottom of the tank directly into water I highly recommend the fluval advance e300 for anyone with up to a 300 ltr tank mine being 252 ltr is ideal for this heater

Nice thermostat with lot of info and easy readability
Very well made thermostat. The outer protective casing is great to avoid fishes being scalded. Nice feature from Fluval. Setting the temp is also very easy with the toggle switch to increase/decrease temp value. The display is large enough for easy readout under water and is very clear. Would reccommend it to all. Been using it for just 2 weeks now. No issues as of yet, fingers crossed. Will update review if anything more to be reported for a long term review.

Jättebra
Fungerar perfekt.
