I was unsure about this one in the beginning but a few chapters in and I was captured! Adding the second one to my cart this second.

10 ⭐️s 10🌶️!!! This wasn’t what I expected! Everything about this book was top tier! Nothing was cliche or expected! It was absolutely delicious writing! Loved Valtu so much! Loved the idea of Mina/Lucy/Dahlia, and the spice!!!!! *chefs 😘 * I loved how insatiable valtu’s passion for Dahlia was! This was my first Karina Halle book and I pray the rest of her novels are this intense! I’d die to see this book made into a movie 🍿 just like True blood 🩸 was.

It was good to read a retelling about Mina and Dracula - a first for me because there is a lot of books about beauty & the beast and disney's retellings - but this is my first retelling about MINA and Dracula - but 4 stars because the book has 372 pages - for my standards, a very short read - and half of the book are filled with steam ( and not only btw the main couple). BRAM STOCKER'S DRACULA movie his probably my favorite movie even today so i had high expectactions about this book. In general, i liked the book (and yes the sex scenes are hot but i was hoping to read more story about Valtus's past, more mystery, more horror, more superstion, more Valtus's power, his cruelty, him like " Vlad" etc) And that ending - her as Dhalia - was a little surprising for me, in a bad way. I was hoping to see Valtus know more about her and see them as a team defeating the real enemies. Anyway, i hope to see this refined in book 2 - i want to know what happened after that ending until the epilogue. And i'm curious to read about the new version of Mina and how they will be back together in book 2

My very first Karina read; and she stole my heart with it.So intricately written. It was an absolute delight to read. I am a sucker for a well-written book and Blood Orange was flawless, in my opinion.The fact that its a Dracula retelling made it all the more alluring. The gothic aspect of this novel was exquisite. Very well put together.Now, as for Valtu and Dahlia. *starry eyed*. sigh.I adore them. Valtu's primal, obsessiveness with his dove was mouth watering. And paired with his soft side that he has for her, 'chef's kiss.Dahlia herself, perfection. The fact that she is his reincarnated love so many times is stunning. I love that she is the same every time, but also harbors differences in aspects of her personality or in her belief system. They get to fall into one another each time that is all its own as well as familiar. Its a one of a kind read. And I have already began Black Rose.And the gorgeous book covers are an added bonus. I had to add them to my shelf. <3

He’s waited years and centuries for her to come back again. And she does. But she’s hiding a huge secret and nothing comes out until the very end of the book.I love Dahlia. She has this huge burden on her shoulders to kill a vampire that she feels deserves it. But as she gets to know him, she falls in love. And when things start unraveling for the both of them. It only ends in another heartbreak.“I will find you again. I will find you in another lifetime. My heart will always find yours.”Their story is not over though. There’s another book coming out. And I personally will be on pins and needles for it. This book was so amazing. It’s honestly one of my top favorite reads from Karina Halle. Super spice and hot. The characters are fantastic.
