An absolute must if you have Black and Decker 18v equipment as the standard charger takes an age to refill your battery. I have pretty much all the stuff in this range along with around 5 different sizes of battery. I would say that this along with the 4amp battery is really the best solution with a spare if possible to rotate even if that is a lower amp hour. The difference the 4amp battery makes is massive as it last longer in use between charges and seems to give more power if that is possible to the product being used. This charger is far better looking and it looks like the proper job as opposed to the cheap and cheerful one that is supplied as standard. It is a proper desk charger that can be left out all of the time ready for the next use. Amazon is good for B&D stuff but I use Tooled Up as well as Amazon seem to struggle for stock a little.

This item will also work for Stanley fatmax batteries (18v fmc685) if you cut the small black plastic tag off of the batteries.

Much quicker than cable type charger, reasonable price

Great little fast charger, only wish I had realised I could have got this PLUS an extra 2.0Ah battery for not much more and at the time of buying my second one that was the offer. I don't like fast chargers normally, as I personally think fast charging reduces the overall battery life (MY opinion and experience anyway), so I use this to 'top up' my batteries if I have used them just a little, but I do use the standard charger now and again but this charger is far superior in every way. It is something you can do without I suppose, but not if you have a lot of batteries (I have 9 now), but it is substantially more rugged and better made than the standard charger, and I certainly am glad I purchased it (as I say I have 2 now) the only downside is that they are a lot bulkier than the standard charger and therefore difficult to fit in any of 'kit' boxes.

This charger has been a revelation to me. It charges my battery at quick speed time; I still can't believe it. I was rather hesitant when purchasing this charger, but have no regrets whatsoever. I can recommend this product for sure. You'll be amazed, and it's so easy to use. Yep, it's truly brilliant!! I hope you find my review helpful.

excellent replacement for the troublesome charger that comes with b&d tools

Re-charges battery faster than the small unit supplied with drill and battery. Sturdy enough and battery clicks in, with status light display.
