StrathmoreVisual Journal Mixed Media Vellum 9-inch x 12-inch, 34 Sheets

I am disappointed with this mixed media journal as the paper is really not suitable for even light watercolour and there is too much tooth for coloured pencils so I feel it is not good as a mixed media paper. Unfortunately I have left it too late to return it and it was an expensive journal to purchase in UK.

Couldn’t fault it except that the paper is too nice to use as a sketchbook. If I mess up on it I feel mortified rather than fairly sanguine. Definitely recommend.

Perfect quality paper, I have been able to create lots of mixed media pieces. Is great for graphite and painted images - I have even had success with water colours. I will be purchasing another!

An excellent product with fast delivery. This Strathmore Visual Journal was just what I was looking for - a good quality, mixed media, hardback art journal.The book is a good large size. The paper is thick and has taken a variety of creative media including watercolor pencils, felt tips, permanent brush tip markers, graphite pencil and glued in papers. So far there has been no bleed through to other pages and I am very impressed with this journals ability to take a good amount of water with little buckling. The ability to use plenty of water when blending my watercolor pencils was an important aspect to me in finding the right journal.I am very pleased with this product.

I’ve tested the paper out in this pad by using the smaller one I bought with it. It’s really good paper and the pad itself is very robust. I’m so happy with these pads and I will be sticking with this brand. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality cardstock within- takes wet very well and all other media i use. Gelatos - acrylics- mod podge - collage paper use- fabric gems etc etc. Under front cover is lovely dark brown marled effect cover front and back. Thick cardboard and very glossy making work durable and safe.I have had other notable brands before as large art journal but this is the best so far.I love the ring binder as central binding as it gives work a flat base either side to use both sides of the paper.LOVE IT and you will too......pricey but then so are all the others of note.

These books are tough! I have thrown all my favourite media at this paper - watercolour, (though it's not my personal favourite for this particular medium), stamping, stencilling, embossing, gelli plate printing with acrylics, collage - and it takes it all without excessive buckling and without bleed-through. The ring binding allows each page to lay flat freely and also makes it simple to remove a page should you want to. Overall, an extremely versatile journal and one I think I will always have to hand in my 'stash'. Fast delivery, too, thank you.
