6 x TUBS DIRECTIONS Hair Dye/Colour CHOOSE ANY COLOURS

I've been dyeing my hair for years now, and have bought maybe 40 tubs of Directions over the past few years. I love it. It's great value (I have short, clippered hair, so one tub is enough to dye a full head of my hair), it's super versatile (you can mix the dyes together with no problems, as well as add conditioner if you'd like to make it a little lighter) and it DOESN'T DAMAGE YOUR HAIR!I can't stress enough the last point. No, Directions isn't the only dye that doesn't damage your hair (Manic Panic, Lunar Tides, Arctic Fox are a few others), but they're all infinitely better than the dyes you get in supermarkets and places like Boots and Superdrug.What does this mean in real terms? It means that a) you can leave the dye on as long as you like - there's no time pressure for when you have to wash it out, making dyeing your hair a pretty stress-free experience. and b) you can dye your hair as often as you like.Is this dye the best semi-permanent dye for long lasting colour? No. It depends on the colour, but it often lasts me a few weeks before it needs topping up. However, for me, this is a good thing. I change hair colours often, and if it lasted any longer it would start to get inconvenient.So, who should buy this dye?- People relatively new to dyeing their hair- People who have been dyeing their hair for years- People looking for good quality dye at an excellent price- People who enjoy mixing their own custom colours, because, let's face it, dye straight out of the tub isn't always the colour you want, regardless of brand- People who value the structural integrity of their hair, and don't want extra damage- People who enjoy changing their hair colour oftenWho should probably buy a different dye?- People who prefer to stick with one colour, so would like to wait longer between top-up sessions (Manic Panic would probably be better for this)- People who would like a higher quality dye - with some dyes, such as Manic Panic and possibly Lunar Tides(?), the dye shines a different colour under direct light, almost in an iridescent way? Directions doesn't really tend to do that, which for me isn't really an issue as the positives of the dye far counteract the negatives. However, if you're looking for fancier hair, with a nice sheen in the light, and are willing to spend a little more, as well as have to wait a little longer between dyeing sessions (which could be a positive or a negative), it is probably best for you to go with those other brands.- People who want to dye their hair black. As much as I love conditioning semi-permanent dye, there are times when it just doesn't cut it. Avoid black conditioning dye like the plague. Regardless of which brand you get, at some point or another it will start to fade, and it ALWAYS fades unevenly, often in gross colours. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and get permanent box dye, and IMO this is one of those times. Sorry.Ultimately I love this dye, and keep on coming back to it again and again. It's perfect for my varied looks, and I love how it keeps my hair conditioned and damage-free. The price is low enough that you can buy a few tubs and mix them together to create a custom colour for far cheaper than other brands *cough* Manic Panic *cough*. If you have dark hair, unless you only want subtle colour, you WILL need to bleach (and tone) your hair, but there are plenty of guides on how to do it online.My (brief) recommendation for bleaching is Bblonde powder bleach + Bblonde 30vol peroxide (you will need a few mini bottles), both from superdrug or boots for a few quid. Follow the instructions (you may have to do it twice to get as light as you want - make sure you space out bleaching sessions at least one week apart to avoid frazzled hair), invest in some good conditioner, and you've got yourself a fantastic base for dyeing. This is just a guide though, please do your own research.You will get dye everywhere, but that's part of the fun. Make sure you cover everything you don't want to get stained, wear gloves (it won't damage your hands but will dye them), and remember that anything high in alcohol (think hand sanitizer, cleaning spray, even certain beverages...) will help you get dye off surfaces and skin when you're done. This is vermillion and pillarbox red respectively. Not that I would recommend putting the colour on your face or near your mouth but just wanted to show the outcome. Please be aware if colouring grey you will need to bleach first

If I could give the purple and blue 5 stars, and the carnation pink 1 star I would.So let's start with the positives - the blue and purple I got were brilliant. Stunning colour, great longevity and even when they do fade they fade to really nice pale purple / mermaid sea green. Wonderful.You can leave them on as long as you want and the pots make it super easy to top up the colour when needed.Now let's talk about that other one. The carnation pink. One word - terrible. I've been dying my hair pink on and off for YEARS and it's always been a super easy colour to achieve. This one was just bad. I got two pots of each colour, I've bought more of the blue and purple since but I still have a pot and a half of the pink because it's horrendous. I tried a couple of times on bleached hair, but no matter how much I put on or how long I left it it just doesn't give any colour. It barely even has a sheen of pink - I've left pink on my hair for months and months in the past and 6 months down the line there was more colour on my hair than the instant I rinse it off with this one.The first time I tried I went out and got a different brand pink and it worked perfectly in all the bits of my hair that was still bleach colour after this washed out and left nothing. Maybe I got a bad batch or maybe it's just a bad colour, maybe it's been updated and improved, I don't know. But it really disappointed me, especially because historically blue is a hard colour to achieve and pink is normally easy.That being said, rounding back to the blue, it's one of the best blues I've ever used, so it's swings and roundabouts. Depending on what colour you're after this is a brilliant brand with a few misses

Diese Rezension ist definitiv schon Mal sehr bilderlastig xDJetzt erst Mal über den Verkäufer. Freundlich und gibt Bescheid, dass man die Nachricht mit den Wunschfarben senden sollte. Das Paket kam sehr schnell an und die Ware ist einwandfrei/heile und wie beschrieben. Habe die Directions direkt zwei Mal hintereinander bestellt und beim zweiten Mal bekam ich netterweise sogar zwei Verpackungen für die Directions geschenkt, sodass ich die Directions dort in den Verpackungen lagern kann, also das war ja sehr freundlich :)Das ist an die, die sich mit Directions nicht auskennen. Wenn man sich die Haare mit semipermanenten Tönungen (egal welche) die Haare tönen möchte, sollte man schonmal davon ausgehen, dass die Farbe nicht zu 100% rausgeht. Oftmals bleibt noch so ein kleiner Faebschimmer übrig.Und man kann sich die Haare nur Ton in Ton tönen oder dunkler. Also wenn man hellbraune Haare hat kann man sich keine sehr hellen Farben tönen. Sowas wie gelb, spring Green, lilac, lavender, pastell pink etc. kann man auf den Haaren nicht sehen, weil sie einfach zu hell für die dunklen Haare sind. Dunkle Farben wie dark tulip, midnight blue, pillarbox red etc. kann man gut auf braunem Haar tönen und man sieht es dann auch.Wenn man sich die Haare mit den Farben tönt sollte man allerdings erstmal auf helle Shirts verzichten und sich besser vom Regen Fern halten, weil die Farben manchmal Recht stark abfärben. Und für die, die gerne Pastellfarben haben möchten. Es lohnt sich mehr die normalen Farben statt die Pastellfarben zu kaufen. Man mischt dann einfach viel Spülung oder Haarkur (silikonfrei bitte! Sehr gute Erfahrungen habe ich mit Naturkosmetikshampoos gemacht) mit den Farben und dann hat man auch die Pastelltöne und man kommt viel länger mit den Farben aus :)Für eine längere Haltbarkeit der Farbe. Vor dem tönen die Haare mit Reinigungsshampoo waschen und die Haare im feuchten Zustand tönen. Und vor dem tönen hilft es, wenn man Vaseline oder ähnliches an Stirn, Ohren, Hals, Nacken und so um die Ansätze herum schmiert, weil gerne Mal Farbe daneben landen kann und damit lässt es sich etwas leichter entfernen.Die Tönung kann man auch gerne 1 Stunde oder länger einwirken lassen. Ab und an lasse ich die Farben einfach über Nacht einwirken. Die Farben schaden dem Haar nicht oder so minimal, dass man nichts davon merkt.Für die Haarwäschen am besten sehr sensitives Shampoo (Naturkosmetik hat sich auch da für mich bewehrt) benutzen.Also bei meiner Rezension sind sehr sehr viele Bilder dabei. Die Bilder haben sich jetzt so über 3 Jahre angesammelt in denen ich ausschließlich Directions verwendet habe.Bei den Bildern (4) mit den sehr langen Haaren waren 3/4 der Haare blondiert, daher sehen die Farben sehe intensiv aus. Auf blondiertem Haar sieht man die Farben einfach am besten :)Aber bei den restlichen Bildern habe ich die Directions immer auf meine Naturhaarfarbe (dunkelblond/hellbraun) getönt und wie man sehen kann, sind die Farben auch dann ziemlich stark und intensiv zu sehen. Es sind mehrere Bilder dabei, bei denen die Farbe schon relativ weit ausgewaschsen ist, Bilder bei denen die Farbe so weit rausgewaschsen ist wie es nur geht und natürlich auch Bilder, bei denen die Farbe frisch getönt ist.Die Bilder sollen einfach zeigen, wie vielseitig man sich mit den Directions die Haare tönen kann und wie sie sich ungefähr auswaschen. Nachdem die Farbe weitestgehend ausgewaschen ist, kann man direkt die nächste Farbe drüber tönen und so weiter.Aber für die Menschen, die keinerlei Rückstände im Haar haben möchten, sind semipermanente Farben eher weniger was, weil fast immer kleine Farbstiche im Haar bleiben, die dann sehr hartnäckig sind. Für die, denen das egal ist und einfach Farbe nah Farbe tönen möchten, sind die Directions ideal.Mein Fazit. Die Directions verwende ich sehr gerne, die Farben sind intensiv und sehen einfach schön aus und ich werde mir die Haare noch lange weiterhin mit Directions tönen. Directions sind auch billiger als viele andere semipermanente Farben, aber erfüllen trotzdem den Zweck voll und ganz.Also ich bin zufrieden und kann sowohl den Verkäufer als auch die Directions allgemein empfehlen.

Ich habe früher immer meine Haare gefärbt und mir dadurch diese auch ziemlich "versaut". Daher hatte ich längere Zeit keine Farbe mehr drin, was mir aber auf Dauer langweilig wurde und ich mein Strassenköterblond echt langsam satt war.Weil ich endlich mal etwas Farbe in mein Leben bringen wollte, allerdings so gut wie es geht auf Chemie verzichten wollte, entschied ich mich für die Directions, die sich untereinander mischen lassen und auch neue Farben ergeben, die aber auch sehr gut halten und gegebenenfalls zwischendurch vor dem Föhnen einfach aufs trockene Haar eingebracht werden kann, ohne die Farbe später direkt auswaschen zu müssen. Somit hat man die "Farbe" einfach wieder aufgefrischt.Ansonsten ist die Anwendung einfach..., einfach auf das trockene Haar geben, ca. 30 Minuten einwirken lassen, am besten mit kaltem Wasser ausspülen und dann so weiter bearbeiten, wie man es möchte.Allerdings muss man sagen, dass die Farben leuchtender sind, wenn das Haar wirklich blondiert (fast weiss) ist, ansonsten kann es sein, dass man enttäuscht ist. Wenn man sich lieber einen pastelligen Ton wünscht, dann empfiehlt es sich, die Directions mit Spülung zu "strecken". Klappt wunderbar und somit hält sich die Menge halt ein wenig länger" :)
