This is a really educational book for kids, especially for those who need to have surgery done, which can be so scary to think about. I think this book does a good job providing medical information for kids on what happens before, during, and after surgery in an easy to read format.

Love these books. Can’t wait to add to our collection. It took me a long time to figure out why it was a little confusing but finally figured out the pages are printed out of order. The title page is in the middle!

I bought this as a gift for my friend’s 3-year-old daughter, who had to get surgery for her recurrent ear infections. She was afraid that the surgery was going to hurt. The book helped her understand the role of anesthesiologists on the surgical team and helped put her at ease. She was excited to get to meet the anesthesiologist who was assigned to the surgery. She brought this book with her to the hospital and pointed out the vital signs page in the book as the nurses took her vitals. She showed the book to her anesthesiologist, who was very impressed by it! This is truly a fantastic book that all kids undergoing surgery should read.

I’ve been reading these books to my 3-year-old son, and we’ve really enjoyed learning more about the different medical specialties. He loved learning about anesthesiology and the different types of medications that can be used to treat and prevent pain both during and after surgery. Recently he’s also been saying that he wants to become an anesthesiologist when he grows up (though it seems like this changes almost every week). These books are written in a way that is so easy to understand and follow. The illustrations are informative and gorgeous. We are in love with this series!!
