Love Matcha tea
Very pleased with the Matcha powder. It arrived quickly, good packaging and it tastes delicious (haven't tried baking with it...yet) if only it was cheap as chips - but it wouldn't be so special then!

High Hopes
Well i had high hopes for this matcha as i am familiar with the quality of other suntory products(midori!) However, this is undrinkable. For a start its yellow not green and its quite bitter. another 15 quid down the drain..

When I opened up the pack, it definitely didn’t have the same green colour as ceremonial grade, but I wanted to try this to save some money. I was worried given the slight brownish tinge to the colour. I decided to try it straight up, which the matcha isn’t marketed towards, to get the taste of it. The texture is smooth, and the taste has no oxidative bitter or tanniny qualities. It goes down easy and tastes good. I think if you want to consume a higher volume of matcha, this is a pretty solid choice to keep costs down. Order the ceremonial grade stuff for special occasions or when you have company over. This definitely would go well in lattes or baking, but I don’t do that. I just like it straight up and I’m satisfied.

After trying a few different brands of matcha, this will probably be the brand that I'll be sticking with. This brand is very high quality. It has a fresh taste, nice color, and is very aromatic for a culinary grade. As an every day drinker, 1 bag will last me exactly for a month. From my experience, this matcha mixes very well with almond, cashew, coconut, and rice milk. It pairs best with unsweetened coconut milk. The only slight downfall is that this matcha requires vigorous mixing and doesn't always completely blend; despite how finely ground it is. It doesn't really have any measuring instructions or serving sizes on the product packaging so you'll just have to find the best blend yourself. 1tsp Midori Spring matcha, 1tsp stevia, 1tsp agave nectar, 16oz unsweetened coconut milk (or liquid of your choice) is the most reasonable recipe I've found so far. Since it is a culinary grade, it will taste very earthy; somewhat like a mixture of spinach and grass... But this is matcha so it's too be expected. However, unlike other culinary brands this matcha didn't have an overwhelmingly pungent or astringent taste; it actually had no astringent taste while drinking or aftertaste. Thus, it only needed to be lightly sweetened. But if you're used to other 'latte' matcha powders with cane sugar or other fillers and ingredients listed before the actual 'whole green tea leaf' then you definitely won't like this one.

Honestly, I've never been one to really jump on health food trends. I find they come and go so quickly and they usually lead to a bunch of copycat products that aren't as good or healthful as the original. However, Midori Spring Organic Japanese Matcha is incredible and the real deal. I really love the flavour of matcha--the true flavour of matcha that comes out so clearly in this product. I've used it in a ton of things --baking, smoothies, breakfasts, etc. I really can't imagine using anything else at this point--it's a generous amount of matcha for the price you pay and it tastes so clean and natural--and I love the energy it gives me. I really didn't think I'd notice such a difference between it and other products, but I do. I've also had a couple of my friends who use matcha (and have tried different matcha products) and they agreed. Overall, I will be buying again.

Well, I have been mostly drinking it as straight tea, and I like the flavor. I guess some would not, but I enjoy it. I've also made a couple of smoothies with almond milk and additional flavorings along with the matcha, and they were great. I'm glad I found your product, and later I will purchase some ceremonial-grade to be sure.

Compared to another matcha that I purchased, I can definitely feel the better quality as soon as I added this one to hot water. There aroma was stronger. The taste however, was a bit salty. I have just started to drink matcha and I don't know much about how to identify whether it's good or bad (or if it should taste salty). However, this was definitely better than the last matcha I tried =D
