Fred Gin And Titonic Ice Cube Tray

I bought this item as a Christmas present for my uncle, and thought that its novelty value was quite good. The product arrived quickly after I ordered it. As I took it out of its packet I found that it was of good quality and when used to make ice cubes thy look realistic like the picture, especially as they are designed so they look like they are sinking as well! Overall, great comedy value at a good price!

I know this has been reviewed in other places too but this is SUCH a funny product. The fact the ship floats at an angle in your glass is a nice touch. YES as people have mentioned this is a product done in bad taste. But I guess that just makes us terrible human beings for getting so many laughs out of something so 'wrong.' We've had no trouble getting the entire ship out as some other people have, the trick is to run some cold water over the back of the tray to loosen them up a bit!

Titanic and iceberg shaped ice cubes? Whoever thought of that? You put it in your drink, you watch it "sink" (melt) away, or add an iceberg with it to, watch them crash into each other time and time again. How ironic that the "unsinkable" ship gets turned into a chunk of ice for people to use in their drinks. Which I suppose is the reason why I bought this item. And i enjoyed using them. I use them when I need ice, when people are round, when I'm drinking something which needs a bit of ice. A lot of occasions as they are a good novelty. There is, of course, a downer as with most products. It is made out of silicon, so it is easy to bend and therefore theoretically easy to get the ice out of the tray. Unfortunately, it isn't. It's a pain to get out of the tray! You spend minutes and minutes trying to wrench the titanic out of this rubber, and when you finally do this, you find a few funnels missing, maybe a chunk where it's decided to stay put. Or if you're really lucky, it does come out in one go. Apart from that, it's a great product, and the icebergs come out straight away. So if you get fed up of the titanic, just add the little ice bergs into your drink. Glad I got this item, as it spices up your drink, and it looks pretty good to, even with a few missing funnels.

These were a gift for someone who is really into the Titanic story .... and gin! Couldn't have found a more suitable gift and she was truly tickled pink with the idea. Apparently she also floats them in the bath as well as her gin to ensure she gets plenty of use out of them!! Good quality and a great price with quick delivery. Very impressed

I got these as a stocking filler for someone who likes to have a drink in the evening when they get home. They were nice as a novelty present, but getting them out of the mould is fiddly, whatever anyone says, and they don't fit in a normal sized glass. They might be more appreciated in a pitcher, or an urn, but the liquid would need to be really cold in the first place, as they lose any recognisable shape very quickly (less than a minute?) in room temperature water.

I have done these ice cubes for a couple of parties now and every one loves them! they are sooo cool, lots of people have remarked on how difficult it is to get the ships out without breaking off the funnels the trick is to hold the ice cube tray above some steam, like a boiling kettle, for about 15 or 20 seconds, this will just melt it slightly enough to loosen it from the tray thus getting it out perfectly. I think the instructions should say this as if you don't its not at all easy.

Great fun twist to add to drinks when entertaining. Good quality and detail in the shapes.

Difficult to get the ships out without breaking the funnels, but a lot of fun and they're a good size of ice that will cool any drink effectively. The cheap ebay copies are easier to get out but the cubes aren't as good.

A play on words, that any punster will appreciate, "Gin And Titonic" is charming and high quality, as all products from the FRED line are. You get a mold that makes four "ships" and four "icebergs", in a cool ice blue sillicone. First class, all the way - the package is easily 'giftable'. Be aware, the product is NOT big - if you are planning a get together with with more than 2-3 people you will either need to prepare before and make up a few (or many) set's, or perhaps buy a few molds. I bought 2, for personal use, and have been quite happy, you can make up a few set's quite quickly - faster than a traditional icecube tray. The molds are easy to un-mold by running warm water over the silicone bottom, or even easier with a very LIGHT spray of non-stick(such as PAM) or olive oil. The product is super-easy to use, just fill with water and freeze it. If you crave crystal clear results, try distilled water. As suggested by the package, the product is best used in a clear "old fashioned" (short) type of glass. The 'sinking' effect is seen with Gin or Vodka! TITANIC fans will love this, but....so will POSEIDON ADVENTURE fans! Call the 'icebergs' cubes, and you can have an SS. POSEIDON drink too! Poseidon fan's would agree that this item would be "Linda Rogo Certified COOL". This item is is just fun, and unique, all around. The price at Amazon is better than what I have seen at boutique stores, too. This is NOT to be missed!

Oggetto sicuramente originale, regalato ad una coppia di amici, apprezzato. Lo stampino è di silicone, i pezzi non sono proprio piccoli ma fa abbastanza scena. Tempi di spedizione rapidissimi anche durante il periodo natalizio.

This creates fantastic ice cubes!! I was able to get them out of the molds pretty easily, and they look so fantastic!
