King of plungers
The kitchen sink was blocked, as in the water stayed in the sink for a while and took a long time to go down. First I tried drain cleaner. Then I physically unscrewed and took every pipe under the sink (I believe this is called the waste trap) outside where I cleaned out nasty gunk with the outside tap and various tools. Proud of myself, I put everything back, but the sink was still blocked when I turned on the tap. I realised the blockage was further down a bend in a pipe that disappeared into the wall with no way to access or remove for cleaning, so there was no obvious way to clean it out. I ordered this plunger in the morning today. It arrived after 6pm (my first ever same day delivery). I filled the sink with water again, and experimented with slow pushes down and faster ones. My first pump, when I let it come up after the push down, was a mini explosion of nasty gunk. I kept going, I guess the blockage deep down in the pipes got cleared in about ten pumps or less. It's messy, but very effective. There is a really big volume of air you get inside the pump, and you are basically forcing it down through the trapped water where it pushes or hits the blockage. When you pull it back it's like super suction pulling gunk out the pipes, hence the mini explosion. It's well worth the money, more effective than drain cleaning liquids, quicker and easier than unscrewing all the pipes and cleaning by hand. Only two disadvantages I can see. 1. You may get nasty gunk on you and close surroundings areas (it's not too bad and doesn't go that far). 2. It won't fit in unusually small sinks, so just check the dimensions before you buy if your sink is smaller than average.

A must for the home
I’ve been using this plunger for a number of years, it first caught my attention whilst at work in a heavily public used area. This plunger is worth a second look before you consider moving on, do avoid being motivated by a cheaper option. This is an oversized robust plunger that will take a lot of punishment & shows little to no sign of wear or deterioration to the stem or body neck even in regular use.You will notice the plastic body to be above average thickness. ( I believe it’s made of POLYETHYLENE ).The secret to a good plunger is to create down force, suction & a good seal,it’s important for the entire body to remain stable & sturdy as you tackle the blockage, this plunger has it in abundance.Because it’s oversized which is much appreciated when dealing with disagreeable solids or splash back it will cover & seal the problem adding superb suction to the blockage. The entire plunger is easy to clean with a very smooth surface throughout very hygienic, for that reason if you choose to go elsewhere do avoid wooden stem plungers you never know what germs are in bedded in the wood grain under regular use.Furthermore rather than spending money on expensive harsh unclogging chemicals that may or may not work & potentially be hazardous to health & the environment consider a safer option.Do check the dimensions of the plunger & all the different areas your going to use it in around the home before you commitI keep two in my home one for the toilet bowl & the other for all sink's this action avoids cross contamination & of course, clearly marking both with a felt pen.My plungers have already payed for themselves in plumbers fees !They’re not cheap, but they do give me outstanding performance & impressive longevity.

Amazing!
Amazing! We had a blocked sink. We tried drain unblocker and other plungers, basically all sorts but nothing worked. I really didn’t want to call a plumber so we gave this a go and it worked first time! It’s incredibly strong.Since buying it a few months ago, we’ve used it a few times and it’s still going strong. Worth every penny.

Glad I've got a spare bedroom.....
....... or I'll be b(el)lowed!I bought this on the strength of other reviews on the site, and because I was feeling at risk from repetitive strain injury from fishing family hair out of shower wastes on a weekly basis. I had also been using various proprietary drain cleaners and gels, together with my existing armoury of an old-fashioned (small) plunger and a Draper 'water jet' style plunger, but a bit like inefficient pain-killers these were only giving me short-term relief in my on-going battle against slow-flowing wastes. Then this arrived. Monument by name, monumental by nature. Small it most certainly isn't, so if you are looking for a discreet and understated plunger then this will not be for you. It's big enough to almost demand a room of its own, but then for what it does it is almost worthy of one. A couple of suction pumps on the shower waste using the bellows action, and the amount of hair and gunk that it brought up were impressive to say the least. No more fishing with a plumber's worm for me after this! It does appear to be one instance of where size really is important, as it showed up the other plungers in my armoury for the ineffective charlatans that I now know them to be. Inspired by the experience of the now free-flowing water that was no longer accumulating around my toes in the shower tray, I set off to try its power against other waste pipes, wielding it like Excalibur. The beast was again unleashed to good effect, assorted bath and sink plugholes being de-gunked and returned to their original free-flowing glory. So, you get the picture; this is a highly effective bit of kit in an area where I have been used to mediocrity in the past. The handle unscrews ("For easy cleaning"), and it generates the suction power of a limpet on steroids. The material would seem to be quite durable if you take reasonable care and store it properly between uses, and it will certainly work out economically as against buying repeat purchases of drain-cleaning products. If you are in the market for a plunger, and have room to store it, then this should be high up your list. I already feel as if this product owes me nothing, because it works so effectively.
