Ed Emberley's Drawing Book Of Animals (Ed Emberley Drawing Books)

Excellent Absorbing and wholesome playbook for kids.
This is a nice wholesome, book for kids to enjoy which provides hundreds of fun, simple drawing templates , in step by step form, for fun depictions of animals, which are a little more caricature than purely realistic. While at an adult friend's birthday party in a pub not so long back, I noticed someone's 7 year old daughter was engaged very quietly and productively in a drawing book on her own, and thought it would be a good and absorbing book for my own daughter ( who also happens to love animals- perhaps they all do?)It has that slightly old school, 'sesame street'-ish charm to it which is uncomplicated, lo tech and fun.Unlike some activity books which get written in, or the stickers used up etc, this book is designed to be copied onto your own paper so has the potential to be used again and again, and become a good 'go-to' book when you need to engage your child in something fun.She has loved it right from the start so I can only recommend it.

Using to animate my writing
I bought this as and other books in the same series as I want to animate a children's story that I have written - I can't draw, but I had thought that drawing simple human faces and figures would be easy. I found that it was - however, with ththe "Faces" book I have already created a series of drawing of my main characters and as part of the story is set in a zoo, this book is proving to be very useful.

Very engaging for kids, big and small!
I bought this as part of my 5 year old niece's Christmas present. She flicked through it, and immediately went to get some paper. She then spent about 20 minutes (which was a considerable amount of time when there were other presents to be opened) drawing some of the different animals.I now have a wonderful tiger on my fridge - and a husband who wants another copy!

Every parent and teacher should have this book - your children will be amazed at your ability to draw animals! It's such a lot of fun - suitable for children of any ability and for adults who want to illustrate and amuse. Brilliant!

Fantastic book!
I bought this book for my 6 year old son and he loves it. He has spent hours drawing the pictures, it's the longest he has ever concentrated for. Even his aunty managed to follow the steps to create the animals and she can't even draw stick people normally.Highly recommend. We will be buying the rest of the books!

Suitable for even the most art-shy!
I bought this as a Christmas present for my boss, renowned for her awful doodling skills. Ed Emberley breaks drawing animals down to the most basic of levels - maybe unlikely to impress the most creative people but it certainly amazed me with how simple drawing can be! Highly recommended for children and doodling adults alike!
